I am so thankful for Dr. Weathered and the staff! Years ago, I regularly brought my dog in for regular check ups, then more frequently for health issues that arose when she was coming to the end of her beautiful, precious life. They did all they could to help. Now I live with two awesome ferrets, and I couldn't think of a better Doctor to take them to. Ferrets are susceptible to lots of heartbreaking things (I've had them in the past & volunteered at a ferret rescue shelter) so anybody that "owns" ferrets (they actually own you) needs to be prepared. Right now, the boys are at the vet while Dr. Weathered performs a blood draw on one of them. They're almost 2 years old, so I'm not too worried, but sometimes ferret diseases come out of nowhere. I can't stop thinking about my boys but I know they are in good hands. Here's a picture of Merry; he's getting the blood draw today.
I use NWAH and Ewing Animal Hospital for my ferrets. Recently, one went downhill quickly with lymphoma. Dr. W was so compassionate and up front during every step of care. Ultimately, Slinky had to be let go. There were flowers on my doorstep the next afternoon. Today, I picked Slinky up in a beautiful wooden box with a keepsake print of her paws. I plan on transferring my two cats to this vet as well. Amazing experience all around. Thank you so much!
I had to take my dog in because his ear seemed like it was bothering him, and the other vets I called didn’t have availability or weren’t open on Sunday’s. Northwest Animal was able to get me in almost immediately, and the staff was very accommodating from the start of our appointment. They ended up having to sedate my dog because he wouldn’t let them check his ears, something they would have needed to do anyways if there was something lodged in his ear (which there was). The bill was reasonable! When I got to my car I noticed they clipped his nails for free while he was sedated. Such great service and would definitely recommend.
My senior cat had been acting strange and getting sick frequently. Northwest was able to get her in quickly unlike other vets, but honestly I probably won’t go back again. It’s been 3 weeks of trying to get test results back, I’ve been reaching out everyday and having to ask the dr to call me back to discuss test result’s. Very frustrated with the lack of communication and timeliness. I would have rather spent more money going to west vet where at least I know they are personable and would have given us answers quickly.
Friday my kitty got sick. This was the only hospital that would help me and my little dude with a financial plan in place. I don’t understand why there’s comments on here saying money is an issue or anything of that matter because if you communicate with this vet office they will work with you. They helped my family so much with the amazing care they gave my cat. I will be going back. I will tell anyone to go here. He is finally better and I have my bubbly cat back. Thank you so much! We will be back.
I had a hormonal rat who was badly wounding another in my mischief. Northwest Animal Hospital was super communicative throughout the entirety of a very stressful process. I was worried about him, his procedure (neuter), his post procedure healing and reintegration, and the rest of my mischief. They had to bump my appointment by a day, and let me know well before the date. They called me the day before to go over his pre-surgery prep so that it would be fresh in my mind. The surgery went well and they took good care of him. They gave me his medication and care instructions when I picked him up. They even called me the next day to make sure everything was still going well. They quoted lower than the hospital that was recommended to me by the rescue I got my other neutered rat from, and they charged me to the penny of their quote. No pocketbook picking surprises during payment. Also, there are not a lot of vets in the valley that will care for our exotic pets, let alone perform more complex procedures on them than a routine checkup... not that advertise their services anyway. It gives me peace of mind knowing there are medical professionals near me who care about my "unusual" pets as much as I do. Every pet deserves proper medical care and it makes me happy to know that there are vets here that feel the same way.
