Description Our Veterinary Medical Center is dedicated to you and your pet with knowledgeable, compassionate care and honest client communication. Our nonprofit veterinary hospital is located within our animal shelter complex and provides a full range of services for the pet-owning public in addition to our primary mission of caring for the animals at our shelter, injured strays and occasionally even wildlife. Please note that our services are not for everyone, and we are not an ordinary clinic. We are the only veterinary charity in the area, and our waiting room is filled with individuals who have nowhere else to turn for veterinary care.

The staff is patient and thoughtful. They have always treated my pets and me with kindness and genuine concern. Unfortunately, when I go there it's usually to have one of my elderly or sick rats put to sleep. They offer the service at a more cost effective fee than anyone else I have found in Boise. I appreciate the work they do and I recommend them.

Came in today to check and see if my dog that I adopted from this location about 2 years ago was up to date on his shots the lady at the front desk looked baffled that a person even walked in the whole vet was empty and my car was the only one in the parking lot I was promptly told I need an appointment even though it doesn’t directly state that on the web site just that high volume has them turning people away( I don’t think an empty vet at 8:30 on a Sunday is at high volume but what do I know)

I was feeling pretty protective of not only my 2 cats but especially my Frenchie, Tarot. She is the love of my life and the way she looked at me when they led her away for her surgery made me cry. But all 3 of my critters have came out of their spay and neuter surgeries great! Tiny little incisions that will barely scar... Excellent care from what I can tell and the service at front desk was exceptional. Now I will be returning next month to get Tarot chipped. Very reasonable prices...money is tight these days for everyone... Thank you so much Idaho Humane Society!!!😊😊😊

These people are wonderful, they were very friendly and very helpful. I needed to update my dog’s vaccinations and they were very nice. She also needed a new license and they were able to help with that as well.

I cannot recommend IHS surgical center and staff highly enough. They provided exceptional care & communication for my dog’s dental procedure at an affordable cost. The facility is spotless, wait times minimal, and everyone I spoke with was knowledgeable and kind. We’re fortunate to have a facility like this in Boise.

This is not a company or a business that trades services for money. This place is a building filled with people who love animals and do everything they can for them. They have operational costs and they charge accordingly. But they aren’t in it for profit. Based on my experience, which I won’t go into because of the pain and grief associated with it (we lost a pet) the folks at the humane society went above and beyond to help financially and emotionally. They healed and oversaw our pets health for years. And at the end of his life they continued to support us in every way possible. I don’t know the people here on a personal level but I love them. This is a good place. You’ll not only get the best care for your own pet but will be helping many others if you use their veterinary services. Please, please, please chose them when considering the well being of your furry loved one. RIP Bernie ❤️🩹
