The receptionist and only one nurse there were kind to me and my family while putting my dog down. Waited an hour for anyone to even come in and talk us through everything. One nurse was rude to my dog when he would get excited a new person was coming in or for the dog bowl they have all their equipment in. She pulled on my dogs leg instanting husky like this and that when all she did was stress my poor baby out more, when I said to just ask the owner what the pet likes she rolled her eyes at me. With other things happening the one that absolutely crushed me what when the doctor finally came in after about another 45 minute wait she was rude to the one nice nurse. Telling her she should have givien him this and that instead of even talking to me, my sister, or even my partner who was in the room. After all was done and she was standing up after listening to his chest she pointed at him and said "he's gone" as if he were trash. Then argued and got very snappy when I said I had other after life plans with him telling me I would mess it up and it wasn't that simple. Horrible for so many reasons, if you care for you pet and want them to be treated with respect this is not the place.

Staff were super nice and caring. I came in to have a mass examined on my dog. They took a sample and said it was just a fatty mass. So good news! The service was fast and the prices were good, which is something I was afraid of it being expensive. We will be coming back here if need be! Thank you

After my Pit ( Clarence ) had his checkup last year, I decided to change vets. I had endured enough long waits in examination rooms - clearly it’s too difficult for employees talking in the hall to poke their head in with an update when the doctor would be in. But more importantly, when the technician said my dog would need different heart worm meds because he was at 100 pounds, I was surprised since he had weighed 106 pounds the year before. Evidently, my dog had been given the wrong heart worm meds for the past year and for that incompetence I had planned to change. I was on a waiting list at another Tucson clinic, when my dog developed cancer while vacationing in Prescott. The emergency clinic in Prescott prescribed Prednisone to reduce the tumors, and after returning to Tucson, I decided to stay with University for treatment, meds and special foods. The vet at University suggested that I increase the dose of Prednisone from one to two tablets per day. I wasn’t sure if I had enough pills to last till my next appointment but the vet said I could come by the clinic to pick up more if needed. After a few days of increasing the dosage, I determined more Prednisone would be needed, so I made the 10 mile drive to University to get more. The red-haired receptionist ( mentioned in another negative review ) was most unhelpful. She said the doctor was unavailable to OK the prescription, and additionally, the pharmacist would have to sign off on the meds. What happened to, “If you need more Prednisone just come in and get some.” The red-haired receptionist said there was no guarantee that I could get the medication that day and was most unsympathetic to my plight. I received a call from one of the owners after I left. Evidently, she had been listening to my conversation with the red head and was calling to give me a warning. She said I was out of line and if I misbehave again, I’ll be blackballed at University Pet Clinic. OH WHAT AN UNDERSTANDING PERSON!!! Instead of trying to resolve the situation while I was there, she decided to hide in her office and then call me afterwards to threaten to kick me and my dying dog out of their clinic. There’s a good reason that about 25% of the reviews for University Pet Clinic are negative. Besides being incompetent and providing poor customer service, they are incredibly heartless, telling a customer with a dying animal that they’re no longer welcome. I have to believe that there’s a real opportunity for another vet in the Sam Hughes area. I think this clinic was better before new ownership, but the way it currently operates makes it a poor choice to bring a pet.

I really appreciated the amount of time Dr. Lopez spent with our puppy's first check up yesterday. She was transparent and spent time educating me on her unique breed. When I was told to keep an eye out for worsening symptoms and to call the office, they were so quick to consult the vet on staff and get us the medications needed to treat our puppy. Thank you for your warmth and quick service. It feels reassuring to know our dogs are in your hands.

Always trying to upsell you. Came in for vaccines? You should probably consider a dental cleaning. Came in for tests? You should try this new experimental treatment. Calling in to ask a question? You’re gonna have to make an appointment before we can tell you we don’t have an answer.

I have taken my dogs to this veterinarian office for the last 8 years. Yesterday, Pumpkin saw them and she died within hours of being in their care. Their official response was, "That's unfortunate. " Pet owners beware, this place will take your money and run. I spent $750 for treatment and my baby died within 4 hours of leaving their office. Edited to say: There must be a reason they don't have reviews listed on Facebook, and they untagged themselves from my post there.
