Very nice modern facility with separated dormitories for cats and dogs. They keep animals together who arrive from the same family. They have isolated rooms that mimic a house for animals who are struggling to adjust. They offer medical care and have guaranteed health exam, vaccines, and microchip. This is a "no-kill" shelter. Shelter is clean and smells clean. These people do great work. I recommend adopting a new family member from Pima Animal Care Center.

It’s been 2 months since adopting our Maisie. The shelter was overwhelmed with dogs, wish I could have taken them all home. We met Maisie and felt she’d be a great fit for us with her gentle, sweet temperament. She was found as a stray but when we got her home she was fully crate, house and leash trained. She was very scared and nervous at first but within a week just wanted to cuddle and be loved 24/7. No major issues while in home, did have kennel cough and tapeworms when we took her to the vet, but we received a free month of pet insurance through the shelter that helped cover costs. Great experience, I can’t remember the name of the volunteer who helped us with the couple meetings we had with Maisie, but THANK YOU. She is a dream and we are obsessed with her.

Had such an amazing privilege to foster momma cat Hannah and her two 8 week old kittens (which are now 11 weeks old), Gigi and Spot (which we renamed him JoJo). My partner and I had such an endearing experience and this was our first time fostering. If I didn't have to go back out of state for school, I would've 100% adopted them. Hannah is a well-behaved cat that enjoys company, she's mild and very good. Gigi, the smaller kitten, is adventurous and silly and very curious. JoJo, the black and white kitten is clumsy, slightly introverted, and enjoys sitting by you. These felines would be such a great addition for your home and they will fill your heart. Someone please adopt them! Edit: To whomever adopted these cats and/or kittens, please post an update! Would love to know how they are doing 💛

We adopted a kitten today, he’s neutered and has his first shots. The staff was friendly and helpful! Danielle was great, she helped us through the adoption process. It was perfect!

This place is crowded but you can tell the volunteers care about the animals. I respect them for being a no-kill. I understand animals that are aggressive and sick beyond their capabilities are the exception, but to have this many dogs and still work as hard as they do to find homes/ foster placement is a testament to their dedication. I urge everyone who has the resources to volunteer, foster, or donate. This place is HUGE and the animals need it. Staff is super helpful and kind. 5 stars. Came with my friend to get a kitten and for all the vaccinations, neutering, and microchipping, the small fee was worth it!

I think Sky got a bum rap. They said she didn't like men but she has been very sweet and friendly to me and my son. Now my wife, not so much. I think with time things will work out.
