PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS I know it's a lot but please read all of this even if it's an emergency. I wish I read the reviews along with everyone else here. I don't even need to talk about how rude and uncaring these people are. You'll find that in the rest of their reviews. But if your in a situation where you need an animal to be saved please read my story. I was in a very unfortunate circumstance where a German Shepard had ran out infront of my car in the middle of the night. My partner and I quickly got out and found him on the side of the road. He wasn't bleeding much but couldn't walk. The damage was mostly in his back legs. We called the first number to come up on Google... this number. They sent someone out who not only tried to tie thin rope around his neck and mouth but also smoked a couple cigarettes right in front of him while he was crying out. Then she got bit while using cheap bite gloves. All she talked about after was putting him down to check for rabies. Again she got bit trying to tie rope around his head after I warned her that he was growling and defending himself. No other equipment. After failing and getting bit a bunch, she called someone more equipped. They tranqed him and took him to an emergency center where they put him down. He had a broken back and two broken legs. She practically laughed when telling me this and just said he was in to much pain. For context, I offered to take in this dog if he survived as he wasn't chipped and I was willing to fight for him. These injuries have a chance to heal with surgery. I could've given him a good life but they laughed it off and killed him anyways. This place should be shut down.

The women I was talking to, Connie was not helpful at all. I’m going through the difficult situations of needing to surrender my dog (due to a bite). All she kept talking about was rabies. She was very insensitive when talking about putting my dog down just to test him for rabies and then saying that I would need to do something with the body afterwards. None of this was discussed during our initial conversation. I told her multiple times that he has his rabie shots and I have the paperwork for it. If you need to make that hard decision I would not recommend going through her.

To begin with, she was very Unprofessional, Rude, and had no Compassion for the cats & didn’t accept them after the fact they said in their own words that they would. On top of that she said “cats can go days without eating” And that shows you how much they really care for the animals they shelter. Now because of that, these cats don’t have a home until I can find one for them. I was just being generous enough to find these stray kittens and their mother a home to be Raised, Fed and to get provided with Medical attention and this is how they treat a Individual like my self Thank You!

Very helpful, we were so appreciative of the assistance we received. Any donations to this organization would be of tremendous benefit, they truly care about the work they do. Special thanks to Jodie & Libby, for taking the time to help save a litter of kittens that were found and in serious need of attention. Thanks again!

They may want to reconsider the “responsible” and “care” parts of their name. I discovered a cat stuck in a tree on my block and after striking out with the non emergency number, they suggested reaching out to ORCA. The man who answered said that like the fire department, they also could not do anything to help due to insurance. It strikes me as odd that an animal rescue organization would not be insured to actually execute various types of rescues. The man then suggested leaving food on the ground and “hope it’s hungry enough to come down”. No other references to other orgs, nothing. Well, the cat did come down- extremely distressed, by way of the thinner, less supportive outer branches. By then, I luckily had a neighbor help by holding a blanket underneath to catch the cat when it inevitably fell- which if I had listened to ORCA, would have fallen 15+ feet to the sidewalk.
