Due to personal health conditions and finding myself no longer able to care for my Anna as she deserved, I surrendered her yesterday. I found Melinda very professional yet extremely welcoming and compassionate, especially to my feelings of failure and loss. Anna was immediately welcomed into the fold. My Anna was my 10-year old shadow and although I was riddled with guilt and grief, I knew I had done what was best for her. In my opinion, you cannot find a more loving and caring rescue!

Edit: She definitely wasn't 16. She was 13 and had ALOT of life in her besides her collapsed trachea. But YOU knew that I could no longer afford vet care and YOU AGREED to take her. Then you disappeared and stopped communicating. Even if you felt like you didn't wanna take her, you should have communicated that. Afterall, you are a yorkie RESCUE, RIGHT? Or do you just "rescue" the dogs that you can profit off of? I definitely wouldn't use the Yorkie Rescue for ANYTHING! I wholeheartedly reached out to Melinda (the owner of Yorkie Rescue) to surrender my Yorkie. Melinda said she wanted my dog but she NEVER got back with me. I ended up having to euthanize her. Can't be trusted and LIES! Find another rescue to work with!

These people are not really a rescue. They get dogs from situations and then they make you pay a ridiculous amount for an "adoption fee". You're basically "paying" for a dog as if you were to purchase it from anywhere else. Please don't let the "rescue" part fool you. And Melinda is not a good person. Take heed and find a real rescue!!!

I fostered and eventually adopted from NC yorkie rescue. They save so many dogs. it’s a wonderful, devoted, very hard working organization. I couldn’t begin to tell you about some of the dogs they’ve saved.

We have two rescues from this organization. We love both of them dearly! They helped me find good matches for our family. They even made special travel arrangements for our fur baby.
