An amazing organization run by some real life superheroes. They thoroughly vet potential adopters to make sure their animals are going to the right homes. They are also the city's only no-kill shelter! They managed to bring this guy, who I found after he ran in front of a truck, back from the brink of death and get him adopted out to a loving owner.
Love this place...so many sweet animals ready for their furever home!
We rescued our cat 13 years ago from this place and we could not be more happy and thankful for her. We wish we had taken her sister and had two beautiful kitties all these years. They were very affordable and super sweet and caring. They really took good care of there rescues and we will return here for any pet that our family desires. Our cat is vibrant and strong and has been healthy since the day we received her. Thank you Animal Rescue New Orleans!
Hello, this is Elie is New Orleans. I have two boy American Bully dogs who are very bonded and good with people. They have lots of energy and love. They needed a sister dog to balance out their social lives at home, and I was looking for a rescue dog in a casual way, not in a hurry. I came across LuLu on a friend's FaceBook page. She was about 2 years old and weighed the same as my bullys. Sheis a short bully mix. I reached out to ARNO and was so impressed with every step of the process of meeting Lulu, learning about her, visiting her with my dogs, meeting her with my dogs and a trainer at my home, and filling out an application with references. The people at ARNO are professional, kind and super helpful. It took about three weeks to have LuLu be able to stay in my home and see how she fits in my household. It was a very thorough process and definitely checked all the boxes for the welfare of the rescue dog. LuLu was the priority all the way. I am happy to say that LuLu has now lived with me and my boys for a month and she is the queen of the house. We all love her and she is obviously very happy. She was spayed and given all her shots, heartworm protection and chipped. Adopting a dog with ARNO also allows for a visit to your home with a professional trainer to address any questions. I found ARNO to be a superior Rescue in New Orleans and I recommend them 100%. Go to their website and follow the instructions. It is a heartwarming gift to save a dog.
Everyone was extremely helpful during the adoption process. From the fosters, to the staff, and they even gave contact info for other staff members to help us transition our second pup into our home. Very impressed with their customer service. Super friendly folks. Had some poor experiences with the larger adoption agencies in the city, but the folks say ARNO were very down to earth.
Amazing place to volunteer! Responsibilities include walking dogs, cleaning cages, hanging out with cats, and more!
