Wonderful people, amazing and well-cared for horses, this sanctuary is the greatest example of humanity's kindness, selflessness and generosity. Horse that were ill, ignored or worse, destine for the slaughterhouses are now thriving and healthy creatures. The owners have given their all to rescue, support and care for these amazing gentle giants. Why not join us, volunteer and lend a hand?

Truly some amazing work by amazing people. Have volunteered here for about 3 years and will say without a doubt that there is no place like it. Karuna is horse centered and caters to their needs wholly and selflessly. It's a no-ride sanctuary that mimics herd behavior so rehabbed horses can live the rest of their lives as horses should, retired and happy together. There is extreme attention to health and nonstop care from the volunteers and owners, Candice and Paul. Hundreds of thousands of dollars are spent a year (with much straight out of pocket) to provide horses with the best medical care, feed, supplements, and enrichment. These horses were rescued in such horrific shape and its an ongoing 24/7 process to care for them, but Paul and Candice do an amazing job working tirelessly and sacrificing so much to provide for them. Rest assured that every penny donated or hour of time volunteering is going to help these gorgeous horses. They always need donations with the ever increasing cost of hay and supplements and to improve the quality of life that these animals deserve.

What an amazing experience we had at KARUNA HORSE RESCUE. Candice, her husband kids and volunteers maintain a big slice of heaven for the gentle giants and little minis they rescue. These people are completely dedicated to giving their once sad, abused injured and neglected horses the good life!! I’ve never seen so much love doled out on so many deserving creatures. If you’re in need of tamping down your stress level, your gonna love this place. They rely completely on donations and their own money. I sometimes question when donating to causes,weather all my $ goes to helping or to someone’s pocket, but there’s no question in my mind at KARUNA. Thank you for what you all do. Every animal there is living their best life!! I want to come back as a horse and live there🥰
