Our son loves animals and I thought visiting the spca would be nice. We never planned to pet any animals just look at them…. A older woman abruptly stopped us and said don’t touch without washing your hands. I informed her we weren’t planning on it . Really through me off of wanting to visit

The veterinary staff Wendy and Dr. Townsend are truly outstanding. They displayed a remarkable level of expertise and compassion towards my pet. The veterinarian (Dr. Townsend) took the time to thoroughly examine my pet and explain the diagnosis and treatment options in detail. It was evident that they genuinely care about the well-being of animals and are dedicated to providing the best possible care. Their commitment to excellence in veterinary care, combined with their compassionate approach, sets them apart. If you're looking for a veterinary hospital where your pet will receive top-notch care, look no further than BC SPCAHospital. They have certainly earned my trust and gratitude.

A wonderful experience as always! I've brought my pets to the hospital here previously and have nothing but positive things to say! Last week, my partner and I adopted a little guy! People working there know everything about the animals and really care. The adoption process was quick and easy, but fairly thorough to make sure the animal matched well with the future owner. Our new pet, Gus is adorable and we love him! Thank u staff & volunteers :)

We first adopted Tiger from this branch in 1994. He lived for 18 years. A few years later we adopted Cameron and he lived for 16 years. This Saturday October 14, 2023 we adopted sweet sweet Coco (Coconut). We love her, she is five and the sweetest girl you can imagine. The staff at SPCA were truly wonderful. The whole experience was wonderful. Thank you for being there for all of us who love animals, and thank you for giving us the opportunity to ADOPT a special animal and not BUY one. June and Nelson

The staff helped me with adopting my first cat. It took me around a week due to stray holding. Every cat looks well taken care of and has plenty of spaces in their holding kennels with a divider between eating, sleeping and littering areas. All staff I have been speaking with were very informative and helpful. And you can tell they do look after the animals with the ways they speak about them. I hope everyone will adopt their fur friends at the rescue center like these more instead of giving money to local breeders.

I just would like to share feedback if ever someone cared enough to listen. No dog experience, I was going in to MEET a dog for the very first time. I arrived, a staff came, asked who I was. Then brought the dog, told me "This is the dog, did you arrive by car" I told her, euh... wait....can you like.. give me some information, how old, any health issues, etc... She looked perplexed that I was even asking for information, proceeded to give me gibberish and vague info, 7 mins into our meeting, she threw the dog in my car and rushed me out. I was like, waittt, I'm taking the dog now?? She was like, oh I don't want to pressure you..as she proceeded to shove the dog in car. I was so shocked the entire time of how poorly they all conducted themselves. Meet the dog for 3min, get credit card information, charge me 500$, and basically told me, alright see ya. It was so transactional and frankly disturbingly disgusting. How can you give a previously abused dog to someone without even asking them questions. That's absolutely insane. I used to donate monthly, but having experienced the behind closed doors treatment, I urged everyone to avoid BCSPCA. Truly, it was almost traumatizing. Definitely now understand why people go to breeders, which is where I'll be getting my second dog. Whatever your generic response will be for the viewers, we've all heard your speeches. Just do better, train staff to be human at the very least.
