Absolutely thrilled with Chico Cat Hospital! The team was incredibly professional and quickly diagnosed our cat's throat abscess from a scratch. They took amazing care of him, and we're so relieved he's already on the mend. Highly recommend for anyone with a feline friend in need!
Love love LOVED my experience with the Chico Hospital for Cats from start to finish! Sam was attentive, easy to get in touch with, and efficient. The doctor I spoke to was kind and knowledgeable. The facility is clean, and quiet. My kitty did the I131 therapy and while she was in she had a webcam I could use to check on her. They even gave her some gabapentin for the car ride back to Sacramento. Overall we’re very satisfied and will recommend them to anyone who needs this done!
I can’t begin to tell you how pleased we were with the Chico Cat Hospital. Our senior kitty needed Radioactive Iodine Therapy. They provided efficient and compassionate care. They kept him for a full week for safety as mandated but helped reduce his anxiety of being in a cage by offering it next to a window with space for him to jump and see out. They also had a camera, so we could check in on him. Sam was so kind and informative. The doctor was knowledgeable, gave tips, and made sure to know we could contact her with any questions. Just absolute top notch service all around. Our kitty is better and it is thanks to the Chico Cat Hospital!
Kindness costs nothing. Nobody books an urgent care appointment ($160) unless they're worried for their pet. Our cat has been struggling with illness for a couple of weeks, getting better, then worse, with significant weight loss and a bit of recovery, only to decline again. By Friday, his condition had become alarming. When Forest Animal Hospital closed, I couldn't book an appointment at any local vets for less than 3 weeks out, and even the mobile vet did not call me back. Yesterday, I finally got an urgent care appointment at Chico Hospital for Cats (CHC) for this morning at 10:30 AM. Rachelle, who scheduled the appointment, was kind and understanding on the phone. This morning, while getting ready for the appointment, I accidentally left my phone on top of the car, and it fell off and was destroyed (I later confirmed). I didn't go back to find it right away because I was too worried about missing the appointment. Arriving at CHC, there was confusion—Rachelle was out sick, and they said I was supposed to have confirmed the appointment (which was bewildering to me, as I'd just set the appointment over the phone yesterday). With my phone lost, all my cat's medical records and documentation from the past two weeks (symptoms, weights, etc.) were inaccessible via Google docs. I scrambled to log into my Google account to retrieve the information using my smartwatch, feeling increasingly stressed. After a 30-minute wait, they informed me they couldn't see my cat (there were four people ahead of us, I hadn't 'confirmed' the appointment, etc.). The manager treated me as though I was trying to get away with something. I explained that Rachelle had told me that typically you have to call in the same day to get an urgent care appointment, but she booked mine for 10:30 and I didn't remember any mention of having to call again to confirm (and in fact, it didn't even make sense). The manager seemed indignant, and said, "I was standing right next to Rachelle when she was on the phone with you, and I know she told you you'd need to confirm the appointment." I said maybe I misunderstood. I left feeling overwhelmed and unwelcome. The friend that had met me there noted how unnecessarily harsh and rude the manager had been. This afternoon a friend told me, "That's why we left - their attitude has declined." I didn't catch the manager's name, but she was a middle-aged woman who wore her hair in a huge bun right on top of her head. I recommend steering clear of her.
I really thought they were amazing. They showed genuine care and concern for my cat, and called her by name. They made sure to do a thorough examination, and the doctor was very knowledgeable about what is to be expected. They sent me home with a clear plan of action, and medications that helped my cat heal. They were attentive and called to check up throughout the next 3 days, to get updates about Stella. (that is my cats name) They also were patient with my young daughter, who came along with me. They saw us right away when we arrived. They also emailed me all records and treatments, as well as test results. They took the time to explain everything and every medication. I'm happy to report that, thanks to Chico Hospital for Cats, my cat Stella has made a full and total recovery from her mysterious illness. Thank you, Chico Hospital for Cats!
Chico Hospital for Cats has been helping me for the last four years with my elderly Camp Fire rescue cat that has kidney disease. Both Dr. Rampino and Dr. Rosas are compassionate and good vet's. The techs are also very good and treat Hope with respect and care. When Hope has a crisis, they are there for us.
