Description We are Neighborhood Cat Advocates, a volunteer organization in Chico, California. We trap, spay/neuter, and return (a process known as "TNR") feral and unowned cats in Chico. Our mission is to reduce and possibly one day end the severe overpopulation of unowned cats in our community. As of December 2022, we have TNR'd over 12,000 feral and unowned cats!

This organization is so caring and helpful! The online application for help is easy to complete and I was contacted within 2-3 days. Volunteer Carole was very sweet and compassionate. A female cat-Mama, that I was taking care of for over a year, needed to be spayed since she had 2 litters already. Unfortunately and after her spay, she developed a heart condition due to fleas where her hind legs lacked blood flow and mobility. She also had a lack of appetite. Carole helped take her to the clinic and where my sister and I ultimately decided to put her to sleep so Mama wouldn’t need to suffer any longer. NCA covered the medical fees for that visit. Truly, Carole was such a kind and beautiful person who really cared and did her best to help Mama by stopping by my house to give pain meds for Mama until we could bring her to the clinic. She also stopped by again to give me a sentimental card and a box of oranges.

I'm very frustrated with the feral cats in my backyard under a shed. I've called everyone to get rid of them - even pest control services, and nobody likes to deal with them. I find the Trap/Neuter/Release solution of the Neighborhood Cat Advocates extremely frustrating. These are not cute, affectionate animals. They killed the hummingbirds that lived in my backyard. They are hostile and aggressive. I wish somebody could provide a solution of how to get rid of them.

Dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to trap, neuter, and return stray cat colonies. They are helpful, full of good information, and eager to reduce the stray cat population.

This organization helped my cats in their time of need. They are an excellent resource that truly looks out for the welfare of all cats.

Wouldn't have been able to afford spaying the stray I took in without them. Great folks!
