Chico Pet Vet literally saved my dog’s life. I cannot thank Dr. Lewis enough. She’s beyond the sweetest and most caring person to bring your fur babies too. Unlike other vets she will work with you. I took my boy(English Mastiff) to VCA twice and they were absolutely NO help. I’m beyond thankful my friend recommended this Vet! We were just here yesterday and my Hades is already SO MUCH better.

I no longer trust that my pets will get the best care here. Getting to the actual vet is difficult, and bad decisions have been made up front. One of the front desk people is very rude, and when called on it, her response was, instead of sucking it up and being professional, decided to double down and continue to be even more rude than before. I gave this vet a second chance, even after being treated so poorly, and it was even worse. Petty and unprofessional. Please read some of your other reviews. They say the same thing about her. I am not making this up. She has an attitude problem and it's now costing you money. I will not return to a business that allows their employees to be rude to customers AND delay needed treatments for my animals because she is too busy and needs help. This is too bad because everyone else here has been amazing, but one person can destroy an empire. The vet in town has closed and MANY people have been asking me where to go. I am have been telling them ANYWHERE but Chico Pet Vet. The way you treat people matters, but more importantly, who you hire to REPRESENT your company REALLY matters. You made a bad choice if THIS is how you wish to be represented. By someone who can't swallow her pride and treat people with decency and respect. No worries, she won't ever have to treat me any way at all. I gave you all the chances you are going to get. Good luck.

I took my littlle dog in just to get 1 little flea and tick pill . 90.00 they told me. But since I hadn’t been there since 2022(after they screwed up and lost the ashes of my other dog) they wanted 135.00 for an exam just to get the 90.00 pill. What kind of racket are they running here. They really need to be shut down. I know the older lady who was running wags to whiskers before was under investigation for animal cruelty. I would like to see their certification to even work there? They are price gouging just like all the other businesses

My dog had gotten something in his ear and he was shaking his head and would wimper when we tried to look at it, so we called pet vet for an emergency appointment. They told us to bring him in the next morning and required $175 deposit for the appointment. He ended up shaking out whatever was in his ear, so we called them first thing in morning to tell them he was OK and he didn't need to come in. They wouldn't refund our deposit because their policy is to keep your money even if they don't provide any service. That was a $175 phone call. The one positive was that they quoted us $500-$900, which is almost double what other vets charge, for the procedure if necessary. If you can't get into another vet, use this vet as a last resort. Be prepared to pay a lot more.

Thankyou chicopetvet! Your service was amazing! I took my mastiff to a vet prior to coming to Chico pet vet and I will never make that mistake again! I almost lost my mastiff child due to being bitten by a rattlesnake. The prior facility said he had an abcess and wanted money for medication without seeing the snake bite holes at all! I trusted my gut and called Chico pet vet and they got him in quickly the next morning to find the bite holes and preform life saving measures on my boy!

Diagnosed my dog with cancer, claims to not be able to get a sample of the tumor, decided it was not necessary to run blood test day of and sent home with medicine to "manage the pain" spent all day at their office $600+ Within the week my dog started displaying symptoms of Kennel Cough, I called and explained the symptoms and they said it's either kennel cough or a side effect of his diagnosis. Come in to get antibiotics for the kennel cough and ask for the follow up bloodwork to be done so we can have the results, they took him in the back to get the blood and returned quickly $400 paid, and told they'd email me the results. Waited from 2pm until the end of the day, still no email. Monday they are closed and still no email. I've spent over 1k at this place that gave my dog kennel cough (he's not around any other dogs), and the xrays I got done for his broken shoulder are blurry and ill-defined. The vet suggested amputation as the best option if his cancer has not spread, but can't even provide proof of cancer other than the "differential diagnosis" Never coming here again if we can avoid it.
