Client since day 1, visited again today, soooo grateful once again. I introduced a new kittie who really needed help. I thought this cat would be the most difficult patient ever but they handled it so well. I am super impressed because I thought today would be one of those horribly, difficult days. It was not. Thank you so much.

Service is top notch! They’ll do whatever they can to try and get your pet in if it’s an emergency and check in after you take them home to make sure they’re doing ok. Prices aren’t too bad and the staff is extremely caring and passionate about animals. They’re also GREAT at communicating via email and text which is perfect since we usually can’t answer calls at work.

I really can’t overestimate how influential the team at Fishtown Animal Hospital have been for me and my cat, Bubba. About 3 years ago I brought in my family cat, who I had “adopted” from my parents and who had been recently diagnosed with diabetes, after moving to Philly. I didn’t have any experience with chronic illnesses in pets and hardly any experience with pets period. I simply knew I needed a vet who I could trust and who would truly be my partner in caring for him — and for me too, given that I felt overwhelmed by the care I knew he would need likely for the rest of his life. Bubba has seen both Dr Newth and Dr Cohn in the time he’s been going to Fishtown Animal Hospital, over dozens of visits at this point. They have done so much for us: they taught me how to give him his insulin shots, showed me how to run a glucose curve at home to help me save money on vet bills, recommended wonderful cat sitters for cats with special needs, coordinated his care with 2 different ER vets, talked me through difficult moments at nearly all hours of the day. Even after moving to South Philly, we still make the trip up to see them because I genuinely can’t imagine trusting anyone else. The front desk staff and vet techs are equally compassionate, thoughtful, and generous with their time and care. Because Bubba is such a frequent visitor, I have had the pleasure of getting to know their staff — all of whom are lovely humans and nothing but patient with my many questions and concerns sent via phone calls, voicemails, and emails :) Hands down, they are the reason my perfect little monster cat has enjoyed a full life despite his diabetes (and the complications that often come with it) and they have helped me tremendously in caring for a pet with complicated health issues. I can’t recommend them enough.

Very kind and attentive staff. Our little baby Oatmeal was taken care of and shown lots of love!

This place saved Tuffy’s life when they thought outside of the box and decided to test her for lyme. Her test came back positive, and she was a new dog after 2 weeks of antibiotics. This was 2 years ago, so this 5 star review is long overdue. We’ve been coming here ever since (and we don’t even live nearby) because the care here is conservative with treatments while open to alternative therapies. Thank you all for being a place both Tuffy and I trust!

Absolutely pathetic. I came in for what I thought was a simple ear infection in my dog. They ran a swab test and the teenage girls they have working there can't swab an ear properly or handle animals. The test came back negative for bacteria or yeast. So rather than suggest the best course of action, I was give several options. To which I had no idea what to do. Everything from imaging, to full exams, medication, blood work, surgery, repeat visits. I left with an allegery medication that did NOTHING. For over 3 weeks my dog suffered till we decided we needed a 2nd opinion. We went to BREES animal hospital in NE Philly and in 10 minutes told us the dog has a severe bacterial and yeast infection in her ears. LIKE I ORIGINALLY suspected. It spread to both and has now shes lost 80% of her hearing. This place should be shut down for malpractice.
