I must contradict the majority of reviews regarding this county's animal control personnel. Upon request, they provided and set up a humane live trap for another county resident's escaped peacock. He had apparently been on the lam for weeks or perhaps months and had decided our small neighborhood was his new place of residence. He is a beautiful and friendly guy, but family grew tired of his roosting on the porch and vehicles (along with inevitable paint scratches and mess left behind). A few days of food enticement later and the peacock was in trap. Wildlife officers showed up quickly when called and assured us the peacock will be well cared for until claimed by the rightful owner. Owner is delighted. Family is at peace. Neighborhood survived the invasion. Win-win all around. Many thanks to our county animal control officers!
Please post new larger signage regarding picking up after your dogs at Tollgate athletic fields. We love this park, however, the lower fields are littered with dog poop. The only sign in that area is painted over with white spray paint! I can’t believe parents of children playing sports on those fields don’t complain! It was awful.
The reason I'm giving Animal Control one star is because the process is useless not the staff. I live in a 55+ community(disabled vet). My alcoholic neighbor plays golf all day leaving dog barking whining and howling at her door(HOA secret violations letters are a joke). I've gotten a serious run around after AC (can only make one visit in 2022)sent me to Detention Center to file a worthless dog nuisance report. State's Attorney's office tells me the solid evidence(recordings and pictures) isn't good enough?! District Court couldn't help to file a civil complaint. I talk everyone out of these 55+ communities. Check the by laws and ensure trailer park people don't move in and ruin your quiet enjoyment. Destroy 3 condos HOA can help pay the bill for my bullies but deal with a drunk and a nuisance dog.....
Called about died deer in my yard and was told they do not handle the removal of wild animals. So how would my neighbors and I know if our families are in danger if Bel Air, Animal Contol, doesn't investigate such actions.
When asked to do a well fair check on a home with neglected animals + unlivable conditions they will show up only to give the owner a slap on the wrist and leave with no action being taken. They do NOT care about the safety and well-being of the animals, they just do whatever takes the least amount of work.
Have tried to contact animal control numerous times for months about a man with 5 or 6 dogs off the leash terrorizing the Homestead Wakefield Elementary. My dog has been bit twice by one of this mans dogs and animal control hasn’t even gave the time of day to come out and investigate. Extremely disappointed in the lack of concern and laziness of Harford county animal control. Truly disappointing
