I’m excited to write this review because I have so many great things to share about my experience adopting at the Georgetown animal shelter. I adopted Malachi almost a month ago, this was a decision I didn’t make lightly. I lost my baby boy 3 months ago, I had him for 22 years so this was a huge loss for me. After I lost him the house was too quiet and I spiraled into depression. My journey took me to 4 different animal shelters; two in Austin, round rock shelter, and the Georgetown shelter. It was here that I met a cat they named spooky. I was so nervous because I’ve never adopted my own cat, they made the whole process so easy and I felt very supported throughout the adoption. They take great care of their animals and socialize them properly to make transitioning into a home easier on everyone. I highly recommend you stop by and find your soul pet here and give them a forever home. Malachi is an amazingly sweet cat that loves to play, he’s the perfect cat for me. He’s helping heal my broken heart from losing my childhood pet.

My husband and I adopted both of my kittens from this shelter, and it’s one of my favorites. They truly care for all the animals in need and are always ready to answer any questions. The post-adoption documents they provide are incredibly helpful when taking your pets to the vet. Whenever my friends are considering adoption, this is the first place I recommend. Found our purrfect baby boy! He’s felv+ 🤍and although he may need more vet visits and has shorter life span, he’s having a fulfilled life. Felv+ cats deserve a chance at a loving home. 🤍

am very happy to adopt my dog. It is a very clean place, they take good care of the animals. people are kind and respectful. The most important thing for me about this adoption was that she already had her vaccinations in order and she already had surgery and I didn't have to spend money doing it myself. I like the care they give to the dogs here in this place. Thank you for everything and may God continue to bless you!

I'm a HUGE proponent of adopting dogs and cats rather than purchasing from breeders or retail. This was my first experience with this shelter, and it was great. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. Their website was easy to navigate, and I was able to look at photos and videos of the available pets before heading to the shelter. You can also fill out all the paperwork in advance online.

My family adopted a Shepard mix a few months ago. The ladies at the shelter were all very nice and made the process as simple as possible. I like many others was a littler nervous adopting a pup that had “history” I was unaware of. She’s turned out to be the absolute best dog we’ve ever owned! Absolutely in love with her. She is a fierce protector of our property and follows me every step I take! Couldn’t be more grateful to have her as a part of our family! Thank you all so very much for what you do.
