I never really write reviews but our experience yesterday was a bit frustrating. So we had gotten our dog Fiona from a SPCA shelter a few months ago and they had made us an appointment for Dixie Day Spay. I did not make this appointment (important later). We were told if we didn’t not go to this appointment we would have been charged for it again. So we took her to this appointment and everyone was friendly in the morning dropping her off, they did rush me a bit to sign a form (i had no idea what this form was they said it was just consent but i didn’t get a chance to read it). Once they had called i drove to pick her up and they had taken a few minutes to get her, at which someone had come to me and said that Fiona had an allergic reaction to her rabies vaccine, and her face was swollen. I was confused when i heard this because I had thought she was only getting a spay because no one had said anything to me. I told them she already got her rabies vaccine, she has all her vaccines. They then were being a bit rude and trying to blame me saying i should’ve read it on the appointment to which i said i didn’t make the appointment the shelter did and then i was rudely told i should have read the consent form that i was rushed to sign. (I get that i signed it but i hadn’t had the chance to read it) When they brought her out her face was huge. They told me to wait in the parking lot for 30 min because they had given her a steroid shot and a benadryl. (I’ve attached photos of her face after about the 30 min). She started twitching quite badly and i brought her back inside and they had said it was probably a reaction to the anesthesia and they told me to give back the pain medication they had given me and to just keep giving her benadryl tonight if she’s still swollen but at this point i wasn’t very trusting because of the vaccine situation and because they apparently weren’t supposed to have given me the pain medication so they took it back. So I called my vet and they advised that if the twitching didn’t stop and if there are any other symptoms to go ahead and head over to them. She ended up throwing up so we went to our vet and thankfully she is okay. Our vet gave us some pain medicine (so our poor girl isn’t in pain with all that happened) and ensured all the swelling had gone down and that there were no hives. We also were provided a cone since we did not receive one with the surgery. Truly the only reason i am sharing this is because apart from being a bit rude I feel if they weren’t rushing everyone this wouldn’t have happened. Edit: In reading the reviews this isn’t the first time this has happened where a dog receives a double rabies vaccine.

Dixie Day Spay was very efficient and caring with Darby. It took her about two days to be herself again but we are very satisfied with her treatment.

Outstanding professional care and attention at very fair price. Staff is smart and very helpful. The facility was clean and well managed as well. BTW our regular vet is 3x the price of Dixie for neuter surgery. I could not accept that. They also offer the full spectrum of vaccinations as well as Home Again tracking chips. Great overall experience.

Took my dog there to get current shots. They were able to get him in when my vet couldn’t. Cost was reasonable. Also had a kitten spayed here. He did well.

I have been going to dixie day spay for over 10 years. I've had Cats and Dogs spayed - Neutered, Dogs toe nails cut shots they also offer flee treatment. They are very friendly and very low cost on everything I just listed. I recommend them to anyone I know my daughter even uses them for her cats and dog needs. They're great!!!! Call them with your questions you'll be pleased with their service.

What they do here is wonderful! I didn't know what to expect when I brought my litter of kittens here to be neutered but they're doing the lords work in there, man. Don't be put off by what the outside looks like. They have a whole little colony of cats that use the outside and inside so anything "wrong" about the outside is a feature, not a bug. The staff was just great and kind and remembered me just based off my phone number when I brought my second batch of kittens. Thank you guys so much!!!!
