I tried Bark and Meow for grooming this week, and was hesitant, because I have an 2 year-old AussieDoodle….we regularly brush and condition her between grooms, but doodle fur type is notoriously difficult sometimes. It can also be difficult to find groomers that know the important spots to cut extra short (e.g., spots behind ears or base of tail, etc.) to prevent matting or..well..dingleberries. I was so anxious when I dropped her off that I didn’t even take the time to clarify what was important to me. It didn’t matter. I came back and she was cut perfectly! Our groomer (I didn’t catch his name) was prompt and attentive to her. It took just two hours when it’s taken 4-6 hours at some other places because they are rotating multiple dogs. I will 100% be back and highly recommend their services. Also, for readers..don’t forget to tip your groomers!!!
My daughter and I were visiting Mt Airy on 2/3/24. We walked in the store and we spoke several times. Both gentlemen were on their phones and hardly looked up. No greeting when we entered. We tried speaking with them about their cute dog in a pink doggy bed. Still no conversation. We actually felt like we were intruding. We have 6 dogs and 4 cats but decided to go somewhere else to shop. Every other store in town was pleasant and very welcoming.
My cat, Tobie, has stayed at the Grand Pup Resort while I have had to go out of town. Tobie was so well taken care of by Greg and his staff. The suites are spacious, there is a grooming and spa area, a bakery , a boutique located inside. Fabulous and luxurious pet resort to board your babies. Highly recommend it.
Just moved back from Kansas City, was super unsure of taking my dog to a groomer here. They did an amazing job on my Siberian, he’s a handful at 100 lbs and a giant baby. They were kind and deliberate and I know the next visit will be even better. (First time is always rough to try to get the exact vision you want for grooming) would def recommend though
I must say the worst expierience ive had not only for dog grooming, but in customer service. I specifically asked my dog not to be shaved to leave the hair shorter but still a king charles spaniel cut. I normally cut my dog myself but i was in town visiting family and figured I would save myself the hassle and spiff up my dog some. I showed the owner pictures of how I wanted my dog cut and repeated several times that i did not want my dog just shaved with clippers. I also specifically said i wanted the feathering left on his legs. I was reassured he understood. When I came to pick up my dog he was shaved and also hacked in some places. I said these were not the services requested and was a terrible job. I did nkt want to pay for somthing i didn't want just like any service thats not done properly for any bussiness.The lady became irate and immedietly started attacking me and threatening me. She was tryimg to withold my dog which is a registered service dog w the ADA. I finally just had enough and agreed to pay because it wasnt worth my time, but get this now the lady says she wont accept my debit or credit card because she doesnt want to deal with a charge back. I asked what was that and she continued to berate me that everyone knows what that is and said she will now only accept cash and I have to use the Atm. I said so now just to be difficult you dont want payment only in cash unbelievable. So then they said if you wont use atm and pay with cash were calling the police lol. Police didnt really do anything and thanked me for just resolving the issue as he thought it was quite insane himself. So in the end they let me pay with card after all lol hmmm, but i should of never had to pay at all. I was appauled by lack of customer service to even atleast try to find a common ground just threats and hostility. To many other dog groomers in town to EVER deal with this place. DO NOT GO HERE .
First of all this place is gorgeous! Our dog had her first experience at Bark & Meow and she will definitely be staying again. She is a nervous boarder when a place is unfamiliar but she was so well cared for. Every effort was made to ensure she was comfortable and she actually ate her food while we were gone. She never does that. When we arrived to pick her up she was happy to see us but not frantic to leave. And normally after boarding she’s exhausted like she doesn’t sleep well. After her stay at the Spa she was energetic and expected to take her evening walk. Thank you for taking such good care of our girl!
