Description Mayberry 4 Paws is a locally ran nonprofit organization focusing on increasing the number of dogs that are spayed and neutered, in order to reduce the number of dogs at our local kill shelter. We also offer short term foster care for dogs, as we work on placing them in reputable, permanent rescue groups.

I’d tried reach in a number of ways for help with my girl, whom was given to me by a volunteer of m4p’s 2 years ago. She became aggressive with my older dog to a point that it could not be ignored anymore. I had reached out to rescues from VA to Raleigh to no avail! She had to be surrendered! I had no other choice! I was at my wits end. Then I get a message from the volunteer and I believe she was trying to guilt me for doing that! But hey thanks for no help whatsoever!
On February 9th we noticed our Bear was missing. This is my uncle's dog and he is 74 and disabled. My husband and I care for him and his 2 dogs. The shelter told us they found a dog hurt that fits Bear description. The shelter came out to our house and told us that the animal would have to be surrendered in order to get medical treatment for him. My uncle didn't know what else to do, but turn him over to this rescue. We were all so devastating. The officer said she would get us a picture soon. We have never gotten a picture. She was sick for a week and the sergeant wouldn't allow it. This rescue group was emailed by me and I asked how to reclaim our baby. These people told me Bear was property and could only say he was alive. They even made the vet refuse to speak to us. I always wondered why they wouldn't help unless he was turned over. So if my uncle refused it looks like he was going to be put down. This is very cruel to do to the family that loved Bear since birth.
They took my friends dog from her. She had some health issues and couldn’t neuter her newly adopted pet fast enough for this company. They said they’d call the police on her if she didn’t return the dog. God forbid anyone have health issues and need surgery-this company will not be sympathetic to your situation.
