Description We are a small rescue run entirely by volunteers. We are located in Mount Airy, NC but we adopt anywhere in the United States and Canada. Easy, affordable transportation is available to most areas. Most of our small breed dogs have been exposed to electric wheelchairs. We do not adopt small breed dogs to families with young children. Most of our dogs come from kill shelters or are abandoned. We do take owner surrenders if space is available.

Our adoption of our new puppy Ollie through Carolina Canine Rescue was a very smooth process. After searching and applying numerous times to adopt a dog through different mediums with no success we turned to Carolina Canine Rescue. We were approved very quickly for our adoption of Ollie and Melanie facilitated the process with no issues. We chose to pick up Ollie rather than have him transported to us. He is doing great adapting to his new home and is getting along well with our 5 year old Labradoodle. We would definitely recommend using Carolina Canine Rescue if you are looking to adopt a pet.

We are so happy to have invited our new doodle puppy from Carolina Canine Rescue. In the furball introduction video, we could see that the puppy litter were so happy and gentle. The adoption process was smooth. We drove up to Mount Airy to meet the new pamily and great volunteers. Our puppy is so calm and affectionate, implying CCR gave such a loving care for them. Our Peach Pie is very healthy and sweet. She has made good progress in potty training only in 3 days. Giving puppy kisses every day to anyone. The vet was impressed how relaxed and good-natured she is. Thank you CCR for taking care of these precious, sensitive, loving and sometimes helpless animals.

We just adopted "Slater" working with Melanie and the couple that was fostering him, Betty & David. Melanie responded fairly quickly after we emailed and sent in our application. She connected us with Betty, who knew Slater well and was very honest and helpful. Instead of going through the transportation option, my son & I made the (beautiful) six hour drive from northeast Ohio through West Virginia. We looked at many adoption agencies, even locally, and found a few aspects that made Carolina Canine Rescues far superior to anything we found locally: 1) the YouTube video of Slater posted ahead of time. 2) Melanie's communication and also her obvious care for these dogs (that was also evident from the YouTube video). 3) The amazing foster family, who clearly loved these dogs and were amazing communicators throughout and even were available for a follow up question after we got back to Ohio. 4) All documents were passed along, shots and neutering and even a tad that can be used as a tracking advice...and we paid only $135.

Had a great experience with this rescue! They are legit and very careful who they select for their rescues. We adopted the sweetest wheaten terrier and couldn’t be more in love with her.

Thank you Carolina Canine Rescue, Melanie, and our little one's foster family who all took such loving care of Ruskin as a newborn puppy. Everyone's love for rescues contributed to a wonderful adoption experience. Ruskin joined our family last week at 10 weeks old and he is settling in fantastically! Great experience, I went through the adoption process, They helped with arranging transport . I received videos and photos of the puppy . He just got back from his 1st vet checkup and he is extremely healthy The vet was impressed at how well he was cared for. I want to thank Melanie And the others at Carolina canine rescue for all that they do and for saving this great puppy and so many more. ❤️❤️❤️
