The Good Shepherd cremated my beautiful dog Aka on December 4th 2003. They provided me with a beautiful wooden box with carved flowers on the top. They provided me with a certificate of authenticity for their services. I will be forever grateful to Good Shepherd for reuniting me and my baby .I especially love the enclosed box that prevents any spilling if it's knocked over. Absolutely so happy with everything I received back from this company. I left my trust with my veterinarian's office (Foster Animal Hospital) knowing they would not disappoint my family with the remains of Bella. I was so overwhelmed with emotions when I picked her up. The mahogany wood box she was in was beautiful, like a mini pet coffin. I also had 2 ceramic paw prints made, and I loved the fact that her little paw hairs were in the prints. She was a lab and loved the water, so I had planned on scattering her ashes at our family lake house. But the box is too beautiful to break open, so she'll go in my study with her paw print. I also appreciate the notarized cremation certificate, so official.

I wouldn't use them for free. Poplar Tent Hospital was amazing with coming to our home and put our dog down. Kind and Compassionate. Three days later a call from Good Shepard. The most transactional conversation. Not, "I apologize for your loss" Instead, "We have your pet's ashes. How do you want to pay for it?" and then after gave $200 credit card, "You'll be able to pick up your pet's ashes at the vet". Absolutely zero sense of awareness. It's actually fairly sad, will investigate whether they are the only one's in the area and thus the non caring part. If not, will make it a personal mission to let everyone know to avoid Good Shepherd Pet Services.

When I called to inquire an operator in Tennessee answered. She told me there was nomone in the office where I lived even though there is a facility. She asked if I wanted to know about pricing but I told her I really wanted someone who would be there and she hung up before I could. It's not a good feeling when they answer the phone and ask what state you are in. I called a local funeral home who was very receptive and explained the costs etc and had a service to pick your pet up if needed. If you are in the Concord area I would suggest Hartsell funeral home in Midland. They were very helpful and personal as well as kind.

Good Shepherd Pet Services was wonderful! I recommend them to anyone. This is the first time I used them and they did everything they said they would do. The staff was very friendly, sympathetic and thorough which is needed when you are going through such an emotional time. I dropped my pet off one day and he was returned to me the very next day. Unlike the cremation place in a another local town that my vet used last year when another one of my pets died, & it took a full two weeks for my pet to be returned to me. If you decide to have your pet cremated this is definitely the place you want to go for service.
