I have adopted multiple times from here. Such an easy process! All of the staff is volunteer and they are professional, caring, and protective of these sweet babies. They are angels! We will always go to this shelter if possible to get our fur babies! Also, please donate. Every time we are there dropping stuff off, there are community members coming in requesting assistance. If you have it in your heart, please send donations and they have a great list on their website! These kind hearted volunteers devote so much time and energy to this facility and these babies, we can’t thank them enough! And believe it or not.. the same volunteers were there in 2013 when I adopted my first dog! You will not find a better shelter to show love to!!!

Thank you for allowing me to adopt my best friend (Valentino) who is now Cozmo since he didn't really seem to respond to Valentino. Everyone was so kind and I'm so grateful that the volunteers pointed me in the right direction for the kind of dog I was looking for. Cozmo is loyal, smart, humble, and a great snuggle buddy (takes up almost my entire queen size bed) but I love knowing he's with me. My entire family calls him nephew and loves him as much as me. I had no idea that was I about to get so lucky with one amazing dog! I've only had Cozmo for about a year and a half but he's already been to the mountains, the beach, and loves to go on walks and run alongside me when I'm skating. He loves baths and happily jumps in the car every time he's due for his wellness exam at Banfield pet hospital. I spoil him with toys, treats, and his favorite, a bone from smoke pit. Thanks for all your help!!

I adopted my first pet from the Humane Society of Concord Labor Day weekend. I called about a dog on Friday morning. It was a holiday weekend, but Judy and her team managed to check my vet records and arranged for the foster parent, Holli, to bring the dog the next day. Melissa, another volunteer, carefully went over vet records, and my responsibilities. I couldn’t be more impressed with the volunteers that run the organization. I had no idea it was completely run by volunteers. Their commitment to ensuring these animals will be well taken care of shows through in all they do. I want to say a big thank you to everyone there for Ripley Jean! ❤️🐾 I’m In love with her already and I appreciate you all taking such good care of her while she waited for me to find her! Thank you for your love and commitment to these animals!

I absolutely love the staff at Ruth’s Memorial Cabarrus County Humane Society. I have been affiliated with them for almost 7 years. Judy, the Executive Director is a person of compassion and professionalism. I just recently adopted my second fur baby from there a few days ago, and I couldn’t be happier with Gobi Newton Lowe. I love these folks so much that I have recently joined them as a volunteer. These folks work hard to find the best homes possible for these beautiful dogs and cats. I am grateful that we have such a wonderful organization here in Concord, NC!

I filled out the adoption application. They called me and they were very judgy to me. When I told them I had an old dog that had liver issues that barely got around but not suffering that I did not get the vaccinations for because I did not want to stress him out, but I believed them and he had them every year up till he got sick, and I told them I lost him 2 days ago. They denied me adoption due to that reason. Since when is it okay to be judged my someone for making a radical decision on your pet to keep him safe the few short months I had left and deny me due to that reason. No wonder the shelters around here are full because they find stupid reasons for good hard working honest dog loving people not to be able to adopt. I love dogs. When my dog gets a sniffle, they are at the vet's office. You people need to open your hearts more and be more understanding. Sometimes when a dog is sick it is more stressful to try and get them out and take them to the vet then be stuck by the needles and everything then let them just live their life out and have no worries in the world. But that is okay. Go ahead and let someone who will hurt the animal or return it in 6 months because it got too big. But us who would never return an animal NO MATTER WHAT get denied. That is why the shelters are so full. Give a good person a chance. I will be telling people to not adopt from you guys, to go to Rowan or somewhere else. No wonder people have to buy privately or get purebreds, and the sweet babies are stuck in the shelters, you people do not give good owners a chance.

They really take the time to get to know their animals and find them the best home fit. When I called about the dog I ended up adopting after seeing her picture on their website they knew her by name right away and were able to give me a very detailed description of her temperament and history with them. Everyone I met was very friendly and kind and very passionate about the work they do. I love my pup and could not be happier with the way things worked out. She fits right in as a member of my little family like she was always meant to be here.
