Ernie the owner and trainer of Sit Means Sit is wonderful. He is patient and kind not only to the dog he is working with but to the owners. Training us is harder than our pet!! Our German Short Hair Pointer puppy was a handful but after the 4-full day private lessons (1 per week) and us doing our “homework” she is much easier to control at home. Now we are working on the “Lifetime” group lessons Ernie offers. Learning to socialize with other dogs and to control her when distractions are around is an ongoing work in progress. We are sure that with Ernie’s continued expert dog training and help with Belle’s humans, She will be a well behaved family member🐾💗 Randy & Becky

We are so impressed with Sit means Sit and had such a fantastic experience with them. Ernie is really the best! So personable and knowledgeable and worked hard with our dog Rhu. He was communicative with us every week and would spend time teaching us how to work with the new commands Rhu was learning after every session. He even took some very sweet photos to send to us on some of their days out and about together! I cannot recommend them enough. We will definitely be going to their group classes in the future now that training is complete!

I was extremely lucky to have Ernie working with me as a dog trainer for my dog, Max. Ernie is a consummate professional with an extensive animal training background working with all animals from horses to dogs. As the operator of “Sit Means Sit”, Ernie stands by his training principles. My dog needed extra help sessions after the training. Ernie didn’t hesitate at all to work more intensively with my dog and even provided complimentary help to make sure my dog implemented the new training principles. Once you’re a client with “Sit Means Sit”, you’re plugged into an amazing and supportive community. Ernie offers weekly Sunday group classes. Not only do you get to practice newly acquired skills with your pup, but you can meet other dog owners and learn together. Ernie is extremely kind and passionate, thoroughly answering all my questions and concerns. I’m very lucky to have found Ernie via “Sit Means Sit.” Don’t walk but run to Ernie if you want your dog to be in the best paws, er, I mean hands in the industry! Thanks so much, Ernie!

I recently had the privilege of working with Ernie, an exceptional dog trainer, and I cannot speak highly enough of his expertise and dedication. From the moment we started training, Ernie demonstrated a deep understanding and passion for dogs that immediately put me at ease. Ernie's knowledge and experience in dog training are truly impressive. He possesses a comprehensive understanding of dog behavior and psychology, allowing him to tailor his training methods to suit each individual dog's needs. His ability to read and interpret canine signals is remarkable, enabling him to address any behavioral issues effectively. What sets Ernie apart is his patience and genuine care for both the dogs and their owners. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and goals, ensuring that he creates a personalized training plan that aligns with your specific needs. Throughout the training sessions, he consistently provides clear and concise instructions, making it easy for both the dog and owner to understand and implement the techniques. Ernie's positive reinforcement approach to training is truly remarkable. He focuses on building a strong bond of trust and respect between the dog and the owner, using rewards and praise to reinforce desired behaviors. His methods are gentle, effective, and never involve any form of harsh or punitive measures. This positive approach not only yields excellent results but also creates a joyful and engaging training experience for both the dog and the owner. During our training sessions, I witnessed incredible progress with my dog. From basic obedience commands to more advanced skills, Ernie's guidance and expertise brought out the best in my furry friend. He not only teaches the dog the necessary commands but also ensures that the training carries over into real-life situations. The practical application of the training techniques ensures that the dog's newfound skills are consistently reinforced and maintained. Beyond his exceptional training skills, Ernie also provides valuable insights and guidance on overall dog care and well-being. He goes above and beyond to address any concerns or questions you may have, offering practical solutions and advice that extend beyond the training sessions. Ernie genuinely cares about the holistic development and happiness of your dog. In conclusion, I cannot recommend Ernie enough as a dog trainer. His expertise, patience, and positive approach to training are truly admirable. If you are looking for a dedicated and skilled professional to help you train your dog, Ernie is the person to choose. His commitment to your dog's well-being and his ability to deliver exceptional results make him worthy of a well-deserved 5-star rating. Thank you, Ernie, for your outstanding service!

Ernie of “ Sit Means Sit” did a wonderful job with our Year old Miniature Aussie, Molly. She has improved so much with his patient and repetitive teaching style. She has a little ways to go but that is only because she is young dog. This man is indeed a dog whisperer. Phil and Diane

If you are looking for someone to help train your dog for any behavioral or obedience needs, look no further than Ernie at Sit Means Sit Asheville. Ernie truly cares for and understands dogs and will transform the way you and your dog interact. Our German Shepherd pup was struggling with behavior and anxiety issues and we noticed a massive difference in his confidence and obedience after even the first session with Sit Means Sit and he continues to improve with each session. The training is all customized to you and your dog’s specific needs and can make a great impact on the pup’s quality of life. Ernie is a dog whisperer!
