Volunteering here is a wonderful experience. Everyone is lovely and the dogs are amazing. There are always less than 10 dogs in the building - they focus on a small number so they can give them the best experience. Sending in an application to adopt is super easy and you’ll have a high chance of being contacted about a dog you’re perfect for! Adopting from or volunteering here is a great choice! Something to keep in mind is they are not doing walk ins at the moment.
Thoroughly impressed. We adopted from STARS and couldn't be happier. I appreciate that they vetted us to make sure they were giving our new family member a good home. They care
I love this place I got a cute little dog it was a fun time I love it I will come back to get another dog .
I volunteer with a local University and we get donations when students move out of their dorms. I personally emailed them to see what they need and how we can sort them and donate to this shelter. Then I emailed them about the time range that they're open so I can drop off the donations then after it was confirmed I told him I will be there on Thursday at 1:30 and again they confirmed (they did not give me any instructions or any thing I should be aware of). I drove 30 minutes to there since there's no parking spots around there I parked a block away and carried all the donations to them and there was nobody to open the door for me. I tried calling them and it goes to voicemail there's no way to talk to a person. It really seems like this organization doesn't care about people's time and money. edit: I understand that emergency circumstances can happen but at least it was possible to leave a note behind the glass.
Such amazing staff and volunteers! Everyone was great to work with, and it's clear how much they love and care for the dogs. So happy to have adopted from them.
Went there to see if I could see the dogs since the website said you could walk-in. When I arrived, I saw the sign on the door that said you had to make an appointment. I had already drove 20 miles to get there, parked several blocks away and walked in the 95 degree heat, due to the website saying you can walk in. I saw two ladies sitting at the desks so I decided to knock on the door to see if I could schedule an appointment while I was standing there. One of them so rudely jumped up and pointed to the sign, as if I was incompetent, and walked away and sat back down at her desk, as if she was so annoyed that I interrupted her. This was so unbelievably unprofessional and ignorant! I felt so disrespected! They need to hire new staff. I will NEVER come here again and would never recommend anyone else to come here. If they treat people this way, imagine how they could be treating the animals. Disgusting!
