My dog tore his paw pad during a freak accident. My dog hates his feet touched. We tried at home to bandage but needed the help of professionals. On a holiday 🇺🇸. They got us in and out really quickly. Explained everything completely to my husband and I and we’re very compassionate in caring for our anxious pup. He had to be sedated to wrap his injured paw. They did majority of the stuff in the room with us and only took him back when it was time for the actual procedure. I couldn’t be happier with the care we received! They even wrapped it in my favorite color 💜 and trimmed his nails while he was under (trust me, very grateful for that after years of trying to do them and drugging him for our primary vet to also struggle).
This place is definitely a 5-star animal hospital. Do not believe any of the people who say they pressure you into euthanasia or try to suck money out of you. That is absolutely not true. I took my 17 year old Chihuahua mix, Buddy, to this hospital probably 10 times in the past year and not once did any of their doctors recommend euthanization. He was diagnosed with lymphoma and was getting close to his end, but the doctors always gave me options to help him feel better and keep his quality of life as good as possible until I decide it's his time. They prioritize keeping animals alive and well over anything else. They also respect and care about the pet owners. If you are unsure you can afford something, they will completely understand and try their best to give you alternative solutions and even give you resources for other clinics that are cheaper. These people truly care about you and your pet. I would like to give a big shout-out to Dr. Ulrich and Dr. Jeon. Ulrich was the nicest and most caring doctor. He always followed up with me and was more than willing to discuss results and further treatment over the phone. With his help, my dog lived about 2 months longer than he predicted. And Dr. Jeon from Oncology was just as nice and helpful. If anyone has a pet with cancer, Dr. Jeon is your doctor. He is very intelligent and easy to understand. I am heartbroken that my baby Buddy passed away on May 9th, 2024, but if I had stuck with my original primary care vet, Paws, in Mesa, he would have surely been gone a whole year ago. VCA emergency hospital is not cheap, but no emergency hospital is cheap. They helped me have a whole extra year with my dog and I was grateful for every second of it. Every visit was a great experience. Every doctor and the entire staff was so nice and caring. I highly recommend going here for emergency care. Thank you so much VCA. -Michael and Buddy ❤️
I've always had a great experience here when my cat has an emergency need. The staff is so respectful, compassionate, and caring. Dr Cheney and Dr Tye have been amazing. When I first went there, Dr Tye answered all my questions, was super knowledgeable, and even the front office staff is very welcoming as well. They put me at ease and helped calm my anxiety. Their level of care, concern, and compassion were much appreciated with what I am going through.
We took Biscuits here around 8 months ago after being referred from our other vet. She was diagnosed with lymphoma, and with the help of Dr. Jeon and Alex in the oncology department, we were able to give her many more months of life. Ever hear of "The Cat Distribution System" where the universe just kind of gives you a cat? That's how I got Biscuits. She was a stray kitten and pretty beat up which landed her close to deaths door at a young age. The second I scooped her up from my old neighborhoods dirt ground, she started purring and I don't think she ever really stopped. 3 years later and it's time to finally let her cross that rainbow bridge. She's been arguably living on borrowed time for most of her life, and while it's really hard to let her go, I find solace knowing she got a lot of great days playing, sunbathing and snuggling. She also was my Boyfriends (Madison) favorite coworker at his work from home job. She's truly his kitty cat. I want to specially thank Dr Jeon for helping us every step of the way through this diagnosis. You allowed us to explore every treatment option and helped us make Biscuits as comfortable as possible through this process. I also want to thank Alex in Oncology. You're one of our favorite people, and in the midst of dealing with kitty cancer, you were a brightness that just made our appointments so, so much more bearable. Thank you for always snuggling Biscuits and being such an amazing friend to her. It really helps knowing she had someone by her side in oncology who loved her snuggly self just as much as us. Biscuits is spending her last day outside in the warm sun, just as I found her 3 years ago. As weak as she is, nothing perks her up more than little walks in our backyard. Thank you so so much VCA ❤️
These guys really do the best they can for everyone. I couldn’t imagine being the dog owner/lover that I am working in a job like this. All superheroes in my book. We had to have my boy seen twice in one day as he can’t urinate and they not only made him feel better they gave me the best price they possibly could. THAT is people that truly care about all situations. I couldn’t be more grateful for them.
A couple months ago, my cat had a stroke and fell down my stairs. I rushed him to VCA and had some testing done. We found several medical complications, got him on medication and have been monitoring him. Dr Wingert explained everything so well and truly made me feel like she cared. My cat is still recovering, but he’s doing so much better thanks to the care from VCA. A month after my cat had a stroke, my hedgehog was diagnosed with cancer. Two weeks after her diagnoses, she passed away. When I found her, her exotic vet was closed.. so I called VCA for help. Although they don’t care for exotic pets, they took her in and got me in contact with an amazing company to have her cremated. They saved a ton of her quills for me, gave me a stamp of her tiny feet, and sent me a card that was signed by everyone in the office. So grateful for this office and the staff. The last couple months have been rough and they’ve been so amazing for me and my furbabies.
