If I could give them 10 stars, I would. From the doctors, to the technicians, everyone from front to back are kind, compassionate, and very informative. I noticed my cat hadn’t been acting himself and brought him to other places in the area where we had to wait HOURS before we were seen only to have them band-aid an issue they did nothing to find. The never investigated properly to find out the cause of his changed behavior. I brought my sweet cat in to Pet Doctor 911 after I woke up to him breathing incredibly rapidly. He was taken in immediately and received intensive critical care. He spent 3 nights with them as they gave him oxygen, as well as all the proper care that he needed. They gave me a diagnosis and got to the root of the issue with instructions on how to care for him from here on out. They saved his life and granted him whatever time that he has left. For that, Harry Potter and I will be forever grateful for the love, knowledge, and kindness you have shown. If you have a pet, do them a favor and bring them here. There is no place in the RGV that’ll take care of them better.
After reading all the reviews this place has i am a little upset why they would do that? I took my Pitbull audry here, she wasn’t eating and was being very lethargic she wasn’t playing with us and her stool was loose I couldn’t find any other vet open but this one, let me tell you that you will NOT regret taking ur puppy here they are very professional and supper fast (we went around 10am on a sunday) the price is fair to be the only pet hospital open 24hrs (coming from a cheap person myself) we got helped immediately front staff were absolutely helpful and the vet was lovable she got my baby up and running immediately after 1 shot me and my husband were amazed anyways happy pup happy family ❤️❤️
They were so helpful with the budget we had. After everything was said and done our experience was the best with the outcome that perspired. Extremely candid with the prices and services and we really appreciated that. The staff was awesome overall, and very empathetic. They made a pretty cute paw print after the cremation. They even let us say our goodbyes after her passing.
Vet told us our dog had a 50/60% chance of living after a surgery. We paid 5,000$, well during the surgery they called us back to let us know that his chances of survival is only 10% now. So we had to make the sad choice to put him down. Had I known that, we would’ve never let them cut him open and take his last moments away from us. After days of calling to ask if they still have his leash and collar, front desk workers said they’ve cremated his collar and leash with him. We called and called and management never got back to us. All we could think is what do we have left of our baby? They sure treated us way different before we paid them, all of a sudden we’re not a priority anymore? Well today they gave us Louie’s ashes and they found his leash and collar. I understand they are busy but it was mental and emotional gymnastics. Not how you should handle grieving people at all. The amount of times my partner called and actually went by just to be told they would call him back was ridiculous. I would’ve liked to hold him and kiss my Louie as he says goodbye. Take your pet babies elsewhere. My poor baby. I’m gonna miss his big brown eyes so much…
Back again in the middle of the night. I wish my dog would have better timing. We thought it was another allergic reaction and weren't going to wait as long as we did before, so I took her at midnight. They were super busy and had some bad cases, so we got pushed down the line. Even though it's personally inconvenient to wait several hours to be seen, our case wasn't life or death (and the medications I'd given her had kicked in and she went to sleep in my lap). I'd rather have to wait a long time, knowing someone's critical case was getting tended first because if my dog was critical, I'd want them to see her first. The vet, Dr. Nieto, was very thorough, really listened to her situation and gave me several options for treatment. Made me feel like we were working together on her situation. He said they were extremely busy for several days in a row, some critical cases, and their hospital full. That's got to be stressful job. So we were calm and cool, and so was the staff. Meanwhile, my dog is doing well again. Bottom line: I'd take my dog there for regular care if the waiting times were shorter, but if you must get seen TODAY, this is the place. Be prepared to wait. But the care is good .
Detailed Review, I’m trying my hardest to make this review objective; please read to know what to expect. While we are VERY thankful that our pet made it through all the medical procedures, there are some issues I find of great concern about this place. As context, we took our pet in because they swallowed a long piece of ribbon. 1. They do not own a endoscope. Pets will swallow things ALL THE TIME. I find it extremely concerning that this emergency clinic is not prepared for situations like this one. Because they didn’t have one, our pet was forced to go through surgery to remove the ribbon even though it was sitting at the top of her stomach and would’ve been easily pulled out with the use of a endoscope. A surgery dramatically increased the threat to our pets life. 2. Not enough surgeons. The vet called this an emergency and that our pet needed immediate surgery, which to an extent is true; we don’t want to risk the object to tangle around the intestines. However, our pet didn’t go into surgery until 6 hours after being admitted to the clinic cause there was already another surgery in process. ER clinics should have enough staff on deck or at least on call to be ready for high traffic days. Thankfully our pet had a full belly so that slowed their digestion down. 3. More than likely not enough surgery rooms. Part of the wait for our pet to go into surgery was that they had to clean the OR for their procedure, which makes me believe they only have one OR. Again, ER clinics should have the proper facilities to perform more than one surgery at a time. 4. Poor communication. I understand that vet techs can have multiple pets under their care at a time. But we were promised follow ups every single time we were on the phone with them, yet none of these happened, I had to call in all the time to find out about the progress of our pets recovery. 4a. Poor charting process. Again, since vet techs are always busy, it would make sense for them to be able to fill out their charts so the front desk could easily provide an update whenever it was required. Every time we called in to get updates we had to wait somewhere between 5 to 10 min because the front desk had to find the vet tech or they had to become available to come to the phone. 5. Suspicious “rules” inside evaluation rooms. This might just be me so take it with a grain of salt, but I thought it was odd that you weren’t allowed to record or take pictures inside the evaluation room while your pet is being checked. I like to take visual notes of everything because it helps me keep things straight; so I found this to be an odd rule to have. If you got nothing to hide there’s nothing to be afraid of. In summary, I do not believe this facility qualifies as an ER clinic. However they’re the only ones open 24hrs in the RGV. Wish there were more options to choose from. I’d recommend this place only as your last option. Our pet had to go through an unnecessary life threatening procedure because of the lack preparation from this place.
