Description Caring Hands Animal Hospital is a network of eight veterinary hospitals treating dogs and cats in the Alexandria, Arlington, Ashburn, Bristow, Centreville, Merrifield, and Clarendon, Va, and Rockville, MD areas. We are an AAAHA accredited hospital, open six days a week, and offer an array of services including wellness exams, sick visits, vaccinations, microchipping, health and travel certificates, acupuncture, laser therapy, surgery, intensive care, ultrasound, x-ray, in-house lab, pet dentistry, and more. The staff at this office and the one in Clarendon are very nice. I have seen a few of the doctors and I think people should feel comfortable working with any of them. I have two cats and one of them unfortunately has some pretty serious issues, but Caring Hands has been very supportive and informative with regard to making decisions. They are obviously very busy, but still do make time in their schedule to call and do follow-ups. I’m sure it’s not easy working with pet owners, so I appreciate their efforts. I would recommend anyone looking for a vet for their pet to give this office or the one in Clarendon a try.

We took Morey to go see the veterinarian here, and Morey was pleased as punch with how he was treated! He told us that they had good bedside manner when they took him in for inspection. We will definitely be back next time morey needs to visit the doctor

This vet is amazing. The staff truly goes above and beyond to take care of your pets. They are kind, very responsive to questions from terrified new pup parents, and always check in after an appointment to see how they are doing. I am truly impressed.

Love the staff and doctors. Hands down my favorite vet. Techs are very knowledgeable and trained along with the amount of amazing sweet care our kitty gets. Easy online schedule for appointments, amazing referrals for other services they don’t do. Overall awesome vet and thank you for taking care of our babies!

Caring Hands with Dr. Caroline Schmelter has been incredible since we adopted our little Bean in March. Bean is an older cat with some issues and is nervous being poked for labs/vaccines or having her head examined. Dr. Schmelter and each veterinary technician who has cared for Bean does so with such grace and compassion. Each individual at the front desk is equally as caring as the aforementioned team. They call us with updates to ensure us a response and quickly fill any prescriptions. So grateful for such a caring and competent group to take care of our Bean! ❤️

Best vet clinic in the area. After our move out of the area we still kept this vet as the primary vet for our pets. I' rather to drive an hour to Caring Hands Hospital for our pets care then render services from a vet I don't trust with our pets. They call after the visit to check in if your pet is still doing ok after treatment. They follow up by email. The technicians are kind and the best aspect is that they are taking appointments after working hours and the weekend.
