Owner texted me back within minutes and was able to take in 3 baby bunnies who had been very badly attacked by fire ants in our yard. She was able to take them in immediately and seemed very knowledgable about proper bunny care. Gave me some tips on our current fire ant situation, and she let me know that she is available to assist us in the future if needed. 5 stars
Dianna took in a baby sparrow that I found hanging by its broken leg from a string that that had been used in building the nest. I ran around the Walmart parking lot and saw a construction vehicle with a ladder and waited for the gentleman to come back. He drove over and got the baby free. I called Dianna and she was happy to take the bird in until it was ready to be set free. She's an awesome lady! I wouldn't care if she has an attitude, which she didn't with me, because she's taking care of innocent, helpless animals. That's my only concern. Thank you, Dianna!
Rehabbing animals is one of the toughest jobs out there. The few negative reviews here are obviously from people who do not fully understand what this lifestyle entails. The stress levels are intense, so yeah, maybe sometimes she isn’t in a chipper mood. Maybe she just had an animal she worked tirelessly for die in her arms. Maybe sometimes she struggles financially. As far as I’m concerned, a person is welcome to be a total jerk to me if they are literally saving lives. That said, Diana was very pleasant and helpful. I had no issues dropping off the baby sparrow that was being attacked by blue jays in my back yard. People who do this work are ANGELS for animals, and WHO CARES if they even HATE humans?! This work is incredibly important.
You cannot understate how important it is to have people like Diana Leggett in your community. The strength it takes to devote your life to taking in and caring for vulnerable animals is a righteous and powerful calling. An accident led me to bring an injured squirrel to Diana - she took it in with a promise to do her best. What more can we ask? Her kindness (and that of a stranger that helped me rescue the injured animal) softened the sad circumstances and reminded me that there are good people, the “helpers” Fred Roger’s spoke of, when we look for them. Look for Diana/WildRescue, Inc and donate if you can. She is doing her best and we should all be thankful for it.
I only texted with this lady but she was very nice and immediately took in the baby bunny I'd found. I'd recommend her 100% to anyone needing help with a wild animal.
Diana has worked tirelessly for wildlife protection. She is very knowledgable about what to do with those cute lil furballs with ears as they begin to emerge from their nests every Spring. Although it was too late for the little babe I took to her after my dog clobbered it, she did help me to realize I can retrain my dog to not pounce at every bouncy thing she sees in the yard. I've been applying that knowledge and so far this year I have a precious little backyard friend that I hope will grow to have her own litter soon. Diana takes in so many precious little ones from all over Denton County and is educating all of us on how better to understand the habits and behaviors of these creatures to coexist better with them. Blessings to her recovery from surgery so she can come back to her important role. She is still available through social media or phone to help guide you to more help if needed.
