I need a supervisor to reach out to me. I am not speaking to Judy any longer because she is rude and entitled. I offered to come in and pay for the second foster cat after 2pm today and asked her to schedule an appointment for spay surgery at a later date. She said no, that I needed to come drop the cat in a crate and pick her up next week when I have time. I reminded her the cat is still sick so she suggested me to surrender the cat that she will take care of it, to bully me. When I still wouldn’t comply she threatened to call Animal Welfare Services to my home. Humane Society does not care for the well being of the cats. They care for surgery so the cats don’t reproduce. The two kittens I found during the hurricane were sick. This one should not have surgery being sick, as the first one did, but Judy DOES NOT CARE. I have spent over two months with these cats in quarantine and the surgery plus the vaccines you scheduled for the same day plus the sneezing could make her be sick for longer time. Follow up: Yes, a woman named Lauren did reach out to me. She confirmed what her associate said, I have no privilege for appointments as a foster parent for the Humane Society. As per my signature, I am expected to remain available based on your needs. Upon discovering the Humane Society had not kept documentation about the cat being sick, and an unpleasant conversation, Lauren released the kitten to me for free and emailed me the up to date vaccine history for Puddles. I’ve spent the last three months frequenting the various establishments on your property. I’m always around, I wasn’t running away. The nice response message is appreciated because a lot of the girls working here are really sweet and curious so I do believe those are your company standards but this was unnecessary.

What a wonderful place with wonder staff and volunteers. Adopt, rescue, donate. This is one of the few places that appear to be who they say they are. I am so glad that we stumbled into all of your lives. Keep up the good and honest work. Not everything is measured by number. ***UPDATE: I thought that this place was great, this is how they get you. Both dogs have turned out to be aggressive. They have bitten my wife, they have attacked my eldest dog numerous times, and they attack each other. We have tried multiple times to try and surrender the dogs back to the humane society, like they asked! Each time, they send a generic email stating that they are unable to take the dogs back. They only reference financial needs options. We have 5 children in this house. Am I to assume that it will require the mauling or death of a child? We now have two lethal weapons in our house. I can only speculate that they do not care about the safety of people or children. This is no different than leaving a loaded firearm within a child's reach. What does it take to protect humans? We have been training for almost a year with positive outcome, but no amount of training can remove the aggression from these animals. NEVER AGAIN!

I’ve fostered dogs for the Humane Society of North Central Florida for a little over three years. The foster team is professional, responsive, friendly, and committed to the organization’s mission. After 50+ years of working in private and public organizations, I feel confident saying that this shelter exemplifies positive teamwork. The staff are dedicated to animal welfare, and everything they do shows it. Shoutout especially to foster coordinators Judy and Valentina — sometimes I wonder if I keep fostering just to hang out with them —and to the shelter’s director, Chelsea, who goes above and beyond for the animals and for staff.

The thrift store has some good finds. The sales support the shelter. A assortment of items-pet stuff, small kitchen appliances, clothes, glassware, etc. All the books are organized by type on book shelves so it is easy to find what you might be looking for. A book lovers dream. Tons of games for all ages and puzzles. If you like DVD, VHS and records they have those as well.

This is a review regarding the spay-neuter clinic offered by the Humane Society of North Central Florida. We brought our 2-year-old tomcat in for sterilization. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We had no trouble at all navigating the process. As long as you follow the instructions e-mailed to you upon booking your appointment, you will be fine. Follow the set pick-up and drop-off times. The vet staff were communicative upon pick-up of any complications or issues. Our cat had virtually none apart from nausea, which was medicated. He is recovering at home, now. I highly recommend this clinic for quick and affordable routine veterinary care. It is a high volume clinic, so there will not be any "red carpet treatment" (e.g., pre-op bloodwork or physicals), but generally most young and healthy cats do not require this workup. The vet staff are experienced and efficient. Thank you.

Came in to adopt a cat and was very excited! Unfortunately the woman working the front desk was more interested in shoveling food in her face than getting animals to a home so we got turned away! I hope they fix their priorities the animals are more important and their job is to get them adopted not sit and make sure they have an hour long designated break when they can eat at anytime. Didn’t even have the decency to open the door and when an Amazon package got delivered she ignored me when she picked it up and closed the door as fast as she could. Different kind of rude I’m not used to can’t imagine how the animals are treated by her.
