Description Coal Mine Animal Hospital has been your local animal hospital in Littleton, Colorado since 2006. We are also proud to serve the surrounding communities, providing veterinary care to Columbine, Centennial, Englewood, Bow Mar, and more! Our animal hospital was founded by Littleton area veterinarians Dr. Jill Levy and Dr. Erica Runkle who worked together at another veterinary hospital for three years before opening Coal Mine Animal Hospital. They had a dream to combine their unique style of compassionate care with quality veterinary service, creating their ideal veterinary hospital.
Best vet office I've ever been to, and I have been to A LOT. I have never felt so comfortable with a vets office before, I don't feel like profit is the goal. I used to dread having to take my pets for checkups or emergencies because I always felt like the vets/techs didn't have our best interests at heart or were not very kind dealing with me/my family. But at Coal Mine Animal Hospital, the vets are amazing, they explain their treatment plans thoroughly and don't try to tack on extra things to bring your bill up. But the vet techs? They are what makes this place particularly awesome to me. It feels like they actually care about my pet and their customer service skills are 10/10. I literally wouldn't even leave my dog unattended with my family or friends, but I would leave him with these techs lol. I'm sorry I can't think of any names, we've been coming for 2 years and we've met quite a few.
Our little Frenchie needed surgery to remove some growths under/on his skin. Michelle is very compassionate with our baby and also provided us with options for keeping our cost down. Dr Runkle is a great surgeon and we are very pleased with our experience here.
Love this vets office. My family used another vet for the past 15 years until the prices skyrocketed, the services went down, and they gave me the option of booking 2 months out, or waiting in there emergency department for 6 to 8 hours, when I told them I thought my dog might have broke her leg. That is when we decided enough was enough and started looking for a new vet. This practice has been amazing. They get me in right away, when there is an emergency, and get me booked within a couple of weeks for regular appointment. They are great with my furry pets and also have a reptile specialist for my bearded dragon. I am very glad we found them.
Dr Runkle is by far the best vet for my hedgehogs when I first started seeing them. They have gone downhill since they got the new software and since dr runkle went on sabbatical. Dont bother. They are unappreciative of your time. And when I had 1 of my hedgihs seen my Algrham she said she would call be back in a week or 2. 2 weeks went by called and they said they would talk to her. Called back again a week or so later again was told she will call me. Fast forward from aug to January. Still nothing. Had to put him down and tried to schedule with them and they said they had no time. Don't waste your time. The other place I took him to sent be a card in the mail for my loss. These people never reached out. So uncaring.
I am blown away every time I visit this vet clinic. Dr. Brummel and all the nurses I have met are incredible. I wouldn’t trust anywhere else with my kitty! They speak very softly to ensure my cat is comfortable, they tell both myself and him what they’re doing, they are gentle, clean, and they even played some nice calming music as my cat Milo gets very anxious going to the vet! They are so incredibly kind and they always do what’s best for Milo. I am so so thankful for all of them so if you are looking for a new vet and want to be 100% sure your animals will be treated kindly and professionally, this is the place to go.
We bring our dogs here for dental cleaning and nail trims. They are super friendly and take good care of our pups. One time my dog ate chocolate from those chocolate turkeys you make at Thanksgiving. I didn't know how many she ate but was bet concerned. I called them late on a Friday afternoon and they had me give her some peroxide water to induce vomiting. I called back twice and they helped reassure me. It did work. Saturday morning thru even called to see how she was doing. I love them, great veterinarian established and so blessed to have them in our community. 08/01/2023 - Very response and friendly service.
