Description Watermelon Mountain Ranch is New Mexico's largest no-kill animal shelter, having found homes for over 150,000 dogs and cats since we started in 1996. We are a network partner of Best Friends Animal Society and travel across the southwest rescuing animals on high-kill shelter euthanasia lists. The woman working the front desk was very nice and I appreciated her professionalism, however the employee with colored hair was very rude and unprofessional. She had written information incorrectly on a dog we were interested in and was very defensive when I asked about the dog. She immediately dismissed any questions I tried to ask and made it very uncomfortable as if we were inconveniencing her. Thank you to the woman at the front desk for editing the information on the website after the other woman walked away. I don't believe I'll be comfortable coming back in the future.

You immediately get a welcome and loving vibe, the staff are all super nice, and their dogs are even move adorable. I would call this a dogs dream place, that is besides a loving home 🏡 😍 ❤️

We recently adopted a beautiful adult dog from the Watermelon Mtn Ranch in RR. The entire staff were so friendly and professional. We are so happy with our new family member, she has filled our hearts and home with so much love and joy. We can’t thank them enough for all they do to making a difference in the animals and our lives. We are so grateful. Keep up the great work, we appreciate you! 🐾💕🥰

We went to get our little yorkie vaccinated and can not recommend this animal shelter enough. You can feel the love for the animals. So clean and well cared for. The staff were so friendly and the vet tech, Brandon, was super friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgable! We will definitely be back!

This place don't care if a dog has a good home, we adopted a dog we fell in love with then the dog got out like dogs do sometimes then the dog came back. they came for her saying we're not adoption worthy. We have a little dog already we wanted a big dog for our new home wich is perfect for one. It was a birthday surprise for my 8yo also so good job watermelon ranch you don't give a damn about these dogs. When they can't even be professional and dress appropriately ( yoga pants aren't work attire) or even brush there hair this place is a joke.

I can not speak highly enough of Watermelon Ranch! The facility is clean and well looked after, the staff is incredible and the vaccine prices are so affordable. Brandon was the vet tech that helped us and he was wonderful with my little pup - and not to mention incredibly knowledgeable! Thank you watermelon ranch - we will certainly be back!
