I have never taken an animal to a vet before, simply because this is my first cat with no prior health problems. Unfortunately, my cat had hind leg issues and we immediately took her here! Let me say, the service I encountered was the best experience I have ever had. Everyone seemed genuinely concerned for my pets health, and my Dr. Was very understanding and helpful during our entire appointment. (Unfortunately I can not remember his name but he was extraordinary.) I am a 22 year old who was absolutely frantic before coming to this urgent care. I left feeling confident that my pet went home with the best care they could provide. Could not recommend this place more, they genuinely care about their animals.
My 13yr old pit bull Zues had a tumor that ruptured suddenly and was in really bad shape. Dr. Jenkins and the staff were amazing at helping me with the very tough realization that his time was finally coming to an end with me. The whole office was extremely accommodating and caring during this difficult time and I can’t thank them enough. Dr. Jenkins was so patient and empathetic during the entire process. I really appreciate the card as well. Top-notch service in every way.
Our initial impression of this facility by phone was not very good. Unfortunately, living in Mountain Home our normal vets office was closed on Saturday and we knew the time for us to make the tough decision to have our beloved dog put to sleep had to happen. With other offices booked we took a chance on Boise Animal Health and Urgent Care. I’m glad we did. They should so much compassion for Fritz and for our feelings and emotions. They allowed us to be part of the process by giving us as much time as needed to say goodbye. Doc Marshall and staff we cannot thank you enough for helping us through such a difficult time. Our experience with Boise Animal Health was exceptional.
They were WONDERFUL when I brought my cat. I was a nervous wreck when I brought him in and everyone I interacted with was so caring and kind. They diagnosed and treated in the same day and my little guy is feeling so much better! The pricing is INCREDIBLY fair too. Ive paid 3x as much at other vets. Thanks guys!
Brought my dog in because I am an over-protective and over-paranoid dog dad and everyone here was very very kind and patient. While there was a bit of a wait seeing as my dog was not in critical condition and because it's a walk-in clinic, it wasn't something that would ruin my experience. The team here gives you their complete attention and care and are not trying to rush you out like West Vet or other emergency clinics I've been to for past problems. Estimates on cost for different procedures with the low and high ends based on what you choose to do, are given early. This lets you pick and choose what you can afford or are willing to do for your fur baby. Costs were not exponentially high. West Vet charged me $300 to make me pay $70 to call animal poison control just to have poison control tell me that my dog would be fine, then proceed to try to get me to pay $900 to keep her overnight while ignoring what poison control told me. I am appreciative that Boise Animal Health and Urgent Care know what they are doing and doing it at a reasonable rate for an urgent care center. Since I have had terrible vets in the past besides a few good ones, I am skeptical and prone to be suspicious of what I am told, but here, I was told in easy to understand terms what was going on. So, things for anyone reading these reviews to understand to make your experiences as less stressful as possible. Do your research, this helps you talk to the vet about your suspicions and allows them to ease your worries or take it into consideration. However, remember that they are professionals and have gone to school and have the training. If you think something is wrong, don't get mean, just ask about it for more details. Be inquisitive, not aggressive. Remember that costs are for the equipment, staff, building costs, utilities, medications, experience and time. If the costs are too high and you can afford to do so, look into a medical or regular credit card. If your pets matter, don't skimp on healthcare. Lastly, leave your bad mood at the door. Don't take it out on the vets, vet tech, or receptionists. I know you are worried about your pet, frustrated at having to take the time and cost to seek care, and maybe just stressed in general, but that is not the people helping you that cause this. Thank you guys at the clinic, I appreciate the care you took with my pup and I'll be back for future issues (although I am hoping there will not be any!).
Dr. Heitman is phenomenal. The care he provided my cat a few weeks ago when he was sick was above and beyond. He truly cares about the animals. He took the time to explain what he found, what the treatment options are, and what to expect going forward. He will be my go to doc for emergencies if my regular vet isn’t available. Truly grateful from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for taking such good care of my boy!
