Had a great experience, they didn't have room for the dog we found in our yard. But they were very helpful with places to search for the owners. I am happy to say owner and dog have been reunited.
The smell was almost unbearable when I first walked in. The cat room was to the left, so I'm assuming the smell was from there. The staff was very nice. These animals need loving homes. If you're looking for a pet, please look here. The people I went with adopted a beautiful, well trained dog. She is absolutely perfect, and you can tell she is delighted to have a family that will love and care for her.
I adopted 2 cats from them a few months back and I have been fighting veterinarian bills for a while now to find out what’s wrong with them. The shelter told me it’s just an upper respiratory infection and I just now found out that it’s actually feline herpes and I was giving them the wrong meds. No wonder they weren’t getting any better. So just a little heads up to people looking for cats. If you get one that congested it’s probably not what they say it is.
Got my dog Ryker (Spankie) a week ago. I was so pleased and blessed to find a great dog to go with my family. Was looking for a companion for my dog Mystic. Ryker is a doll and so sweet. They took the time for myself and my dog to get to know one another. And made sure they were safe with each other.
Just Adopted a new Addition today. Max, he fits Right In 💙❤️ Welcome Home. ❤️ Six Months ago we adopted Maxx. He is Still THE PERFECT FIT to our Family. Good Natured, Very Well Behaved, and is HaPpY and Ready to Go at All Times. Thank You Cumberland County Animal Shelter for working in Giving us the Perfect Match! Y’all Are The Best! Great Facility! ✌🏼
I recently adopted a dog from FOCCAS/Cumberland Animal Shelter. At first, everything seemed good- shelter looked clean and people seemed compassionate and genuine. However, once we got her home, we discovered she had Kennel Cough. I took her to the vet right away. When I attempted to contact FOCCAS to ask them to cover the medical expense, since she came to us with this unknown illness, (not to mention that I had paid a very high adoption fee of $500, which I complied with because they told me it covered additional medical expenses for other animals in need), they ignored my texts and calls. I was somewhat shocked. It certainly shows a complete lack of ethics, as well as compassion for the animals they serve and people who are trying to do the right thing by adopting a pet in need.
