Very friendly and compassionate place to rescue an animal from. We love our Captain Jakk that we got from 5 Acres. He has been such a wonderful addition to our family. 5 Acres helped in any way possible to ensure we had a positive experience when rescuing Jakk. Will do business with again for sure!

The kitty cottage is cat heaven. Come and adopt your best friend for life ♥️ also there are a lot of volunteer opportunities available. Highly recommend!!

I adopted a dog from this shelter a couple of weeks ago. When we came in, we described the kind of dog we were looking for and the staff at the front desk were able to suggest several dogs we could visit with. They seemed to know a lot about each one and their habits. The process of adoption was very easy and they sent with us a tote bag filled with a few toys (especially ropes which they said were her favorite), enough food for a few days, her medication, a leash, collar, and harness; it was all unexpected and very helpful as we had not gotten many supplies beforehand. She came to us spayed, up to date on all her shots, in healthy condition, and medicated against fleas/ticks/heartworm. I would adopt from this shelter again. I can tell they care about their animals.

I had volunteered at Five Acres several years ago, but tonight was the first time I’d actually adopted from there. I saw little Cleo on their Facebook page, immediately filled out an application, and called to make sure I could go see her. The entire process was seamless. She’s in foster status until she can get her regular heartworm test (delayed just due to the holidays), but Five Acres was fantastic to work with.

I love visiting their Kitty Cottage. They have kittens upstairs. You need to ask a volunteer to take you there. They also have fiv+ and fevh cats upstairs, too. I love petting the friendly cats. The volunteers are friendly. I met my friend Lainey there.

Five Acres is fantastic. We adopted our 2 sweet kitties here! They truly care about who adopts the animals here, but at the same time, the application process wasn’t too tedious. The animals room’s are well maintained and the staff are very friendly!
