Description Cats Off The Square is represented by Alleycats and Aristocats a 501c3 nonprofit organization helping to control overpopulation of colony cats. Alleycats and Aristocats is focused on Fostering and Adoption. Saving cats and finding them their forever homes is the core of our mission. Cats Off The Square is a great place to meet cats and kittens to adopt, drop off donations to support our missions and to volunteer. All cats deserve love no matter where they come from.

This shelter seemed more interested in finding reasons not to adopt out their cats and kittens with what they called their strict policies. It is a shame they make the process so difficult when we were told they have over 200 cats and kittens in their care. I feel one kitten definitely missed out on a loving home and is now still one of those 200.

We had a great experience finding and adopting an adult cat. No pressure and lots of great cats to choose from, grateful we found the right one to match our home. Staff is caring and it’s hard to walk out with just one cat!

So I saw this cat on Petfinder, instantly fell in love with the description of the cat I was interested in. Arrived at the location , one room was able to be entered, and the other wasn't able to due to a "cat sickness." Well, the cat I was interested wasn't there. The volunteers were nice, trying to help, even tried calling the people to locate this cat. Well whomever they called, the whole time was describing this cat, and the whole time just brushed me off as "fake nice." well they told me to put in an adoption application to hold a meet and greet, in which I did... to get a "text" a couple hours after in which I replied, and then IMMEDIATELY got a "declined application email" So I was full on interested in this cat, willing to pay the adoption rate in which they described (a costly $250 bc its "purebred", but then denied me over their "strict" policies... but reading their brochure, it's no wonder they have up to 200 cats in their care (most being in fosters). I will tell you right now, that a pet owner can pass your "strict" policy and still abuse an animal. So I get declined over most likely over this places "vet policy" Some animals don't do well in carriers or anything due to experiences in the past, which makes it nearly impossible to take to a vet. Also what we do with our other animals has nothing to do with a new pet. The last pet we had had emergency issues and had to be put down, on June 3rd 2024. So we were willing to open our hearts to a new animal, just for this location to immediately decline us. I give them credit for having cats being able to free roam in a room, but if you have such strict policies then how will they find homes? I will never do business with this location. I will go elsewhere and actually help animals that need help. Also, their really long application seemed to have been phishing for information. The names of my kids and their ages is truly no information I need to disclose.

Miss Polly loves her new home! Thank you to the kind staff and volunteers who helped unite us with the perfect, prettiest little girl. She has opened up so much from the shy kitty she was. THANK YOU from Miss Polly and our family!

I found a cat with a necrotic left jaw. The response time was amazing and they gave me further directives on how to get him help due to shelters rarely accepting strays. Thank you!

We love the cat that we adopted, but it came with a high price tag. We should have known something was off when, upon leaving, one of the employees warned that "cat sickness is real common right now." Seemed off considering we've had cats for now 8 years and never had a "real common sickness." Within 3 days of getting our new to us kitten home he had been diagnosed with feline herpes, upper respiratory infection, and pneumonia. I write this as I sit at the animal ER getting thousands of dollars in blood work and imaging on our other cats that are now deathly sick because of the kitten we brought home. It was a fun experience to come in and sit with the cats, but I absolutely would not recommend getting a pet from here.
