I cannot describe how wonderful this vet practice is. We have a 10 year old dog and have been to at least a dozen vets over his life. This one **is by FAR the best**. It’s not even close. I’ve come here for 5 years and our dog has had a couple health issues in that time - I think I can give a pretty accurate assessment of the practice. I look for a few things when going to a vet: 1. Most important: a smart and effective vet who keeps your pet safe. Absolutely yes. I cannot describe how much I appreciate Dr Stronger. She is the type of vet who absolutely knows what she’s doing and genuinely loves animals. She’s very smart and has caught a few things early from basic checkups. She has an absolute aura of competence. The few times our dog has had to go to a specialist or for follow up treatment, every other doctor mentions just how wonderful her reputation is. Finally, I often do research before bringing my dog in. Sometimes with other vets, I’ve politely asked about whatever I read, and they either say “oh I didn’t think of that” or they are irritated that I would ask at all. Dr Stronger is the opposite. She’s completely on top of things and she encourages you to ask questions and she wants to help you understand what’s happening with your pet. I genuinely feel completely safe with my dog in her care, and I don’t know if I can say that about any other vet I’ve encountered. 2. They care about your pet: Absolutely. This is where they go from being great vets to truly exceptional As with many vets they are always booked. But when it’s an emergency they have **always** fit us in as soon as was necessary, often the same day despite being very busy. Not only that, Dr Stronger is the type of vet who calls as soon as the results come in. When she calls she asks about my dog and obviously genuinely cares. She asks follow up questions and if you have something to ask after the visit she’ll make time for a call after the days appointments without charge. Truly exceptional service. 3. Reasonable prices: Check - they’re not the absolute cheapest but I’d say the prices are below average in NYC 4. Their goal is to help your pet and not to sell you unnecessary procedures: check. There have been multiple occasions where I asked about a test or a follow up and the vet talked me out of it, saying it wasn’t necessary. On the other hand, there have been a few occasions where they did recommend further testing and each time it caught something important. In those occasions I was bracing myself for a huge charge but the testing prices were always reasonable 5. Kind staff. They are always busy but always friendly and make the experience positive Long story short I cannot recommend this place enough. I do not have a single complaint about them and I recommend them to anyone with a pet I have only encountered Dr Stronger so cannot speak for the other vet but I would expect they are just as competent
Brooklyn Roots has been helping me from the start of rescuing a kitten, Eleanor, with some neurological issues. Their team was so supportive and helpful when it came to working with this kitten and figuring out the best treatment options for her, especially in the beginning. Recently, she had her spay surgery. Dr. Lantner took the time to discuss this process and the potential risks, given Eleanor’s preexisting conditions. The team at Brooklyn Roots did a great job of keeping me informed the day of her surgery and reviewed the special steps they took to ensure a successful surgery. I’m very grateful for the entire staff and all of their help with keeping little Eleanor healthy!
After visiting at least six area vets over the course of my pet's life, Brooklyn Roots is hands-down the best practice in the area. Dr. Stronger gives more thought to her care plans than some human-focused doctors, and did a fantastic job following up via email whenever I had questions about my pet's care. Keep in mind that it is a very busy office (due in large part to the quality of care), so be sure to book an appointment well in advance. I'd give six stars if I could.
I went here for basic care for my dog, I lived close by so I chose to check them out a few times. The service is nice when you're in the office but not as communicative once you're gone. I subsequently found another local place that has makes me feel more welcomed so I jumped. Pricing was fair enough and the facility is nice.
Brooklyn Roots’ entire team and facility is unparalleled in quality, care, follow up, and consistency. The practice is built on integrity and puts animal welfare above all. Most importantly my fur family is very relaxed whenever we visit. I can’t thank them enough.
Very disappointed with the quality of care and hours of operation of this vet. We have been using this vet for over a year and many times have felt frustrated and disappointed with post visit care, communication, and follow-up...not to mention how difficult it is to get in for an appointment or an emergency visit! I don't think it is fair to call it a hospital when they are only open THREE days out of the week. Very happy to be changing our pups primary care provider.
