Absolutely the worse credit and checking company! After multiple phone calls, several hours of my life wasted because of incorrect information given to me in regards to the 400.00 reward bonus that was to be provided to me they declined the amount of money because a checking account was opened first when it clearly states online rewards checking bonus. False advertisement to the extreme. I was then told I had to have a line of credit in order to receive the checking bonus. Then once the line of credit was opened and transactions were made they told me I already had a checking account opened and I did not qualify. All and all this was a waste of my time and money do not I repeat do not open an account with upgrade inc!

I was given 22.51% APR by upgrade for a loan with them. My credit score at the time was 760. Upgrade charged me a loan Origination Fee/Prepaid Finance Charge of $480. To set up my loan. For the first year Upgrade used my monthly payments to mostly pay off the interest. So 95% of each payment went to interest. After the first year a little more went to pay down the principal balance. Still most of my monthly payment went to interest. So I decided to pay off my loan early. Before paying off my loan early I called Upgrade to have my auto pay taken off weeks prior. I was told by an incompetent representative from Upgrade. My auto pay would be turned off and my account closed. When I fully paid off my loan. It was not! I was over charged by almost $300 for the next billing cycle after my loan was already paid off! I’ve had the unpleasure in dealing with three more incompetent representatives. Who assured me they turned off auto pay for me. This was not true! All four reps even gave me miss information with different dates that I would get my refund back. One even hung up one me after making me wait 20min on hold. The dates provided to me for a refund have expired and I still have no refund. I called upgrade again today August 16th 2022 and spoke to another representative. She refused to get me a manager or supervisor when I asked for one. She also said it would be 4 more business days before I get my refund! Not only that when I call Upgrade I have to enter in personal information before being directed to a representative. Like DOB and last four of SSN. Then once I get a representative on the line they have no record of my phone number or loan number. So then they have me give them my DOB, Full legal Name and full social security number before they will help me. Even though I’ve had a loan with them for years… I called once more to upgrade on the August 16th for the second time. Because I didn’t trust the first person I talked to. I had to make sure auto pay was still off so I wouldn’t get billed for September like I was for August. Auto pay was still on and had to be turned off, hopefully indefinitely this time! Customer service for upgrade is the worst I have ever dealt with! Every call I have with them I can hear loud obnoxious laughter and rowdy conversations in the background. They sound like young adults in their early 20s or late teens! Not very professional and unorganized!

Don't do it! RUN!!!!The loan is designed to never be paid off. I made 1 payment 98% of it went to interest. Made a payment the next day over 30% was taken for interest. Customer service is shady at best. She gave me all the wrong information after I pointed it out she said it was up to the customer to tell her to go into the "special" screen. Not kidding, her words. I'm gonna dip into my 401k cause at this point the penalty will be cheaper than this loan in the long run

06/18/2022 - This is an update to my previous review I am changing my rating from the one star to a five star because the company corrected the problem and have since proven to be a great company to do business with, so even though we had a rough start I will continue to patronize Upgrade. ********* This is the worst company I have ever dealt with, This entire year Upgrade has reported to the credit bureau that I have a $10,000.00 loan with them and I do not, I cancelled their loan in the approval stage because I got a much better rate with my credit union. I have been in constant contact with their resolution department which results in more lies and blame on the computer glitch. This has been going on since September 2021, I currently have a line of credit with this company and I am paying it off as soon as I can because I don't plan on ever dealing with this company again. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau, I am writing this review on google and also on yelp. This is total harrasment and I am also going to inform the attorney general's office of their poor business ethnics and incompetence for any type of resolution. I have received numerous emails stating .02 cents past due on a loan that I do not even have. Today I received notification from the credit bureau monitoring service that Upgrade reported a new account on my report of a $10,000.00 loan, this is false reporting because I have not received any loan funds from this company. The response that I get when I speak with their representatives is that they sent the loan proceeds to my bank and my bank returned it. I have no knowledge of this and to this day I have not received any funds from them.

Sneak attack and added 30 more dollars each month in Interest without warning and all they could say was sorry!!! Looking to pay them off and get rid of them
