We absolutely love Thrive. It’s the only vet clinic that our special needs dog truly loves to go to with absolutely no anxiety. She always remembers how friendly the staff is and has a great time while there. Thank you for caring for Hope!
I took my little girl to Thrive because she was lethargic and not eating. They ran a test for a uti but mentioned that it could be worse if she didn't feel better soon. The next morning she seemed to be in worse shape. I called thrive and they referred me to an emergency clinic. The ladies here were very good to my pup and she loves them. I will be taking my girl here from now on. They kept in touch after we were at the other place and checked again the next day. Thank you so much!
My dog needed his anal glands expressed. My regular vet clinic, which books this procedure as a vet-tech appt ($36) and not a clinical appt, was booked up. So I called this Thrive clinic. (I've taken my dog to another Thrive location before but not to this one in Saginaw.) I was told my dog would have to have a vet exam too. When I asked about cost, I was told it would be $96. Anal glands expression can be done by a vet tech in about five minutes; no vet required. This vet visit add-on is just for money making. I received a response from this Thrive location, justifying the expense for "ensuring the overall health of pets" and therefore of my dog. My dog wasn't sick. He had full anal glands that need expressing every month or so. I'm sure the vets here are excellent. But not every issue needs an exam.
On my initial visit the team seemed great. I brought my dog into the vet after an injury. Upon his re-exam, he had worsened. Instead of offering any type of alternative changes to his medicines or offering other treatment ideas, Dr. Thinnes told me I would need a neurologist consult and probably need to spend $14k on MRIs and surgery or euthanize my dog. As I sat on the floor crying, I reached out to a friend that is a vet tech and she suggested trying a different regimen of medications. They did change his medicine (which did help some). I asked them for a referral to an animal chiro and they refused without the neuro consult and MRI($4k). I found Dr. Torres who is a DVM and animal chiro for my second opinion. Now after a few weeks of treatment with her and spending nowhere near the amount mentioned above, my dog is walking and recovering from his disc injury. Do not believe a vet that tells you that it’s only surgery or euthanasia. Get a second opinion! If I had followed her advice, I would have lost my dog for no reason or spent a ton of money I did not have for the MRI and surgery.
Amazing!!! They took such great care of Zeva, even showed me where I could get the ear wrap she needs pretty cheap online, our other dog Bolt wasn't about to let me out of the house without him, something about Zeva is his girlfriend and he needed to be there for her, they were kind enough to work him in and trim his nails for us! I highly recommend this team, Zeva actually left the room with her and I didn't need to pretend I was going to, they made both our dogs relaxed and comfortable. Thank you for taking such great care of our furfaces, they are my children. 😊
The team was awesome! They took great care of my puppy and the test result follow up was quick and professional. I'm very happy I choose this clinic.
