Great caring staff and amazing animals are here. The sweet babies here need love and I really enjoy fostering for this location!

I adopted my dog, Archer, here last year in August. He's been my best friend and is currently on my profile picture. These people care so much about the adoption process and will go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need before you take them home. Yes, sometimes you get a sick dog when you bring them home. Archer had kennel cough for about a month. If you really care about them, you'll take care of them and not complain. I've released 2 other dogs here that I found as strays and the process was just as easy. Good job guys.

As someone who volunteers here and sees the love for animals I would highly recommend. They truly care for the pets. Also we always need more fosters for anyone interested 🩷

Unfortunately this facility is understaffed and while my wife and I were walking through meeting all the pups there were many that were left to navigate their living quarters around feces and urine. While at the site we found a beautiful bulldog, my wife was immediately drawn to it after having had a bulldog previously when she was young. We saw in the paperwork that it was listed as having some biting issues but this handsome fella was as sweet as he could be and was not acting aggressive in any way, he just wanted some pets. So we inquired with the two girls in the back taking the dogs out for walks, they reported that he had been super sweet and had even let one of them carry him around like a baby. So we told the girls we wanted him but wanted to continue our tour to say hey to the other pups. After doing so we came back to the bulldog we had decided to name “Bo” and he had a tag ”not available” on his paperwork. We asked the same girls what that was about and they said while we were walking around a rescue worker came in and staked a claim on the pup and even though we had said we wanted him there was nothing they could do. This being a first come first shelter I felt this was not fair and asked to speak to the person in charge. When speaking with Melodie(I think) we were told there wasn’t a rescue hold on him but a behavioral assessment hold and that after it was preformed we would receive a call. We left there and went to their sister facility and spoke to the front desk there about what happened at the other shelter so they looked Bo up. Turns out Melodie had lied straight to my face and in the file it was listed that there was a rescue hold. That employee told me without a doubt they would call me and tell me he’d be going to a rescue because of his behavior. So I waited for their call. I received one from a young lady after couple of days and she said he was going to a rescue, I asked if his behavioral assessment had taken place and she said she wasn’t aware of that and that she was just relaying what was in his file, shocker… I requested to receive a call from Melodie. Two days later she finally called and claimed an assessment had been preformed and after the results felt a rescue was a better fit. These rescues “save” these pups and make it harder to adopt them than it is to buy a house and get them for free and charge exorbitant “adoption fees” and turn a profit. If this shelter was ethical and really cared about the animals they wouldn’t be running this way and lying directly to people’s faces. If biting really was the issue that’s surprising because the very next weekend we went there and there was a German Shepard that was listed as having biting issues but you could sign a waiver acknowledging the risk and still adopt her… weird, I guess no rescue was interested in turning a profit off of her so a waiver would do. Long story long these people don’t care about the animals and they’re liars.

Had to put my 5 yr old dog to sleep due to muscle disease. Spent $7000 over 1 year to find the problem. Time past I felt a void so I adopted free pup on Tues. they spayed her on Thurs. I pked her up Thurs 5:50 pm. I did call their phone # & reported seeing other pups with nasal drips not thinking much of it. I also told girl at front desk about some pups coughing. My pup cried when pooping took to our vet Sat. 9am. Did X-rays pup full of poop got enema & had pneumonia. Vet wanted to hospitalize pup 2 nights at $6500.00 we declined instead got meds & $635 bill & keeping our fingers crossed we caught it early. Pneumonia highly contagious amongst dogs so chances are all are infected at this shelter. If she didn’t have the poop issue we would not known she had pneumonia until severe. So many families were there when I was picking up my pup unknowing to them what might be lurking silently in their pet. Will all these animals be put to sleep or medicated? I don’t know. Last thing I wanted was a high vet bill & sick puppy. Someone somewhere should be held responsible for this issue & the animals shouldn’t have to die because of this carelessness. Their lives are just important as ours. Shame on the entire staff & all who over see their jobs. “SHAME ON THEM”!
