This was the best, most organized and personally friendly shelter we’ve ever been to. Victoria, Annie, Jesse, and Rick were all so professional as things went so smooth and prompt. We will definitely go to this shelter again in the future if we should choose to adopt another dog. We adopted Gimli on September 13 and she’s been such a great sister to our other Chihuahua Bentley. Thank you guys all very, very much❣️ Diane & Patrick from Monte Sereno, Ca

Thank you for the kind support and help. Sorry if i dont remember the Ms. name who receive me in the front desk, she and the doctor were so gentile with us during this extremely difficult moment. Our Nina is resting in peace now. Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts. Bless you all.

I have had multiple negative experiences with the staff here. I made a complaint about animal neglect (including a cat and her kittens in dirty, unhealthy conditions and a big dog who was not spayed and was locked inside with the cats all day). They came and left a flyer on their door once and never followed up with me or them (no change or check on the animals at all). Most recently my family is relocating to the desert and we are looking to re-home our dog. I have never had to re-home an animals before so I called asking for advice, and the woman on the phone was very short and rude to me. I wanted to know about the process, if we were unsuccessful in finding her a home in the next few moths, what it would look like if we had to surrender her to the shelter as a last resort. She started with telling me if there was ANY sort of behavioral issue at all they would euthanize her. That was obviously upsetting to me, and I started to cry, the woman on the phone audibly sighed (obviously annoyed with my emotional response to her telling me they would kill my dog before she gave me any more information on the process). Through tears I had to ask about how it works, what the process is to get her in the system, if there was an option for us to be a foster family for her in the mean time etc. she was clearly not interested in telling me how it worked. I then asked if she had any advice on where to safely post online about my dog being available and she told me to google it. Very unhelpful and short with me the whole time. I am trying to do what’s best for my dog because we love her and want her to be happy, I am glad I made the phone call because I will not be dealing with this organization again. The animals happiness and wellbeing don’t seem to be a priority and that’s disappointing, to say the least.

What do you do when your neighbor brings your dog to doggie jail? You thank them.

I volunteer here 2 times a week because I appreciate the values and goals of The SCCAS. They really make the greatest efforts to treat each animal with kindness and respect; the staff is so knowledgeable and helpful and that really helps it feel like a safe and welcoming place. I enjoy every moment of my time volunteering with the dogs here and I am so grateful to be able to give the dogs all kinds of love! It's helpful for the shelter and it's extremely therapeutic for me! The shelter is open Monday through Sunday: 11am-6pm, only closed on major holidays.

Why isn't anyone talking about how expensive it is to get your animal back out of the shelter. I had an experience a couple years ago and many people have had this experience and isn't speaking up about it. But I had a husky that was there that was brought in by an angry neighbor making poor decisions and the second I came there they were super rude to me and disrespectful and to this day I am traumatized by it. But they refused to give my dog back to me after showing them records of my dog and pictures and they still said it wasn't enough proof. And after a couple of days went past just before I was going to get her they sold her it's very disrespectful and a disgrace of how they treat there animals. And they kill animals on a daily basis if the animal don't follow by there rules or any kind of resistance 😡😡this place is a disgrace and shouldn't be in business.
