DON'T EVER volunteer for Grace Animal Shelter. The volunteer coordinator will find something wrong with your service (I've been there for 15 years) and will fire you for NO reason and lie to you to the director about you and never give you a second chance. Find another place to volunteer and help needy critters in a non toxic environment.

Husband and I went there to possibly adopt a female middle-aged dog that was up for adoption. We went in there and asked to see the dog we were interested in. We were told that that dog does not like any other dogs. But we still wanted to look at her. We were told that she was returned from a foster home a few days earlier because of this. That young lady went and found the co-worker that the dog only likes. That young lady came out and talked to my husband and stated that this dog just got fixed a week ago and she does not need to be excited and pull her stitches. My husband confronted them stating that the other girl stated that she was just returned because of some "getting along" issues with other dogs. The second girl changed her story to fit the first lady. Which was a complete lie. Both of the employees/volunteers were very standoffish after they found out which dog we wanted to see. They were definitely hiding something.

Friend of mine adopted a dog here. The dog had bad teeth and a spider bite. Under staffed and heartless. Do not recommend.

Adopted a dog just before Christmas named Sophie, had to return her the same night because she tried to bite my one year old in the face unprovoked. I was understanding and just simply stated that I think she should be in a house without children for their safety. Come to find out on Facebook someone else just adopted the same dog, and she tried biting their child too. Why would you allow her to go to another family with young children? This is how people get hurt.

They were able to help a local stray that was hurt. We were able to get him in right away, and they helped him get much needed medical care. Wonderful people and an amazing program. They are an asset.

Absolutely fantastic staff and volunteers that really love their animals. Everyone was excited to help us and introduce a variety of pups. They helped us find the perfect dog. Welcome home baby girl.
