Why even have animal control? Y'all owe me $350... You forced the public to take action when a potentially rabid cat was on my property.. I had to trap and find a place that would euthanize the animal... But, and this goes beyond the pale... I was told that they do not consider cats a domesticated animal... such a shameful state of affairs... this office is completely useless, and if any tax dollars fund it, it should be closed immediately!!!

I've never met the animal control officer. I've only dealt with dispatch who is often rude and unhelpful. The major issues I have is the sheer lack of funding to animal control. For all of Douglas County there is one officer. I'm told he works 12 hour days and only has like two days off. This is ridiculous as the police are useless for anything bigger than a shitzhu and when you report it they act like you're inconveniening them,, this includes when there was an aggressive (towards men specifically) mastiff roaming my neighborhood. Again no real issue with the officer himself as I've never met him. Just a huge issue with the complete lack of funding for him to be able to have a decent ability to do the job. One guy is not enough. But then again it is Roseburg, do we expect anything else?

2 dogs owned by our neighbor broke thru the fence and attacked our dogs. This isn't the first time and we have reported it once already. According to Oregon state law these dogs should have been caught and impounded until they got ahold of the neighbor, but no they went there to tell them to come and get their dog. I wouldn't have been so upset if those dogs were not acting of an aggressive nature. Hadn't already attacked our dogs and the fact it took animal control/sheriff to get here for 45 minutes after it was called in despite informing them we were scared to leave the house and we had a kid to pick up from the bus stop.

Simple they don't do animal control they only mettle in ticketable pet offences.. hint if you hate your job quit someone else would do it gladly.

Horrible customer service, they refuse to do anything about the vicious dogs down the street that are always running loose and attacking other dogs. There have been multiple complaints by myself and others, yet the dogs are always loose and chasing things!
