When Michigan considered passing a law forcing Catholic adoption services to stop discrimination against the LGBTQ community, they sent their lawyers to outright lie about their past behavior and threaten the state that they would abandon every last child in their care to the streets rather than willingly let a loving gay couple adopt through them. Needless to say, the law stalled out and was never passed. Monsters. Evil, hateful bigots worse than the devil.

I have given 2 children up for adoption through Bethany Christian Services. One in 2008 and one in 2017. I was told that I would receive LIFETIME post adoption support/counselling. I have never been offered any support. Not once. I called a few months ago to see if they maybe offered a birth mother support group or something, and was told no and given the Grand Rapids office’s number. Called but never received a call back. Giving a child up for adoption is hard. Giving two up is harder. I hate myself and have been suicidal on and off for years. With no one to talk to that understands. Shame on you guys for never offering me any support.
