Was so very happy that Shirley at Golden Years was so willing to take on Payton. She is an 11 yr. old Malamute who's owner at the time could no longer care for her. No one in the family was able to take her either. Payton is the sweetest girl, and If I could of taken her home with me, I would have. No one seemed interested in her because of her age and of course size. I was so afraid that she may have to be euthanized. Thank God for Shirley! She has been so kind and has kept me informed on how Payton is adapting. So very grateful to Golden Years Alaskan Malamute Rescue..cannot thank you enough!

this place is not in the business of adopting out the dogs to a loving home. They are a 503c "organization". seems like an elderly lady maybe using they system to tax dodge or mix money around and keep a few dogs as a cover to the whole thing. I have for nearly 3 months tried o adopt river a dog that is still there. i dropped off my application in person, spent time with the dog to show them we get along. each time i called to see if i have been approved or if river was already adopted i got; yes she is adopted and then the adoption did not work out and now she is back. That had been going on for almost 3 months. I see on their website that the dog is still there. unless that too did not work or something else is up. Recently i was told that the first applicant adopted the dog and they were going to leave her status as available just in cause adoption did not work. know their stories don't make any senescence. overall just a bad organization all around
