My sister and I had an amazing experience adopting our cat from RISPCA. We had never adopted a cat before. The place was clean and welcoming. Everyone who works there was very friendly. Olivia in particular was very helpful by responding quickly and patient in answering questions. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to adopt an animal and would adopt from them again in the future.

My partner and I had been looking into adopting a cat for a couple of months when, one evening, we came across Sophie on Petfinder. Her bio resonated with us, and we felt that our personalities and living situation matched hers perfectly. We emailed Cathy at the RISPCA on a weekend evening to enquire about Sophie, and from there, we smoothly scheduled an appointment. We had the opportunity to meet Sophie twice before confirming her adoption on the third visit. Working with Cathy was a wonderful experience, unlike anything we had encountered before. The staff at the RISPCA were all fantastic—welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. Their new facility in Warwick is beautiful and feels like an undiscovered gem, in regards to its architecture and the people who work there caring for the lives of the animals. We were given the chance to explore and meet other cats as well. With Sophie, we got to play with her each time we visited, both under Cathy's supervision and on our own, which made the experience feel natural and comfortable. Cathy provided in-depth information about Sophie’s history, taught us how to understand her personality and body language, and guided us on how to properly care for her. The shelter even vaccinated her for us, so we're set for the next three years, and they offered recommendations for vets we could visit in the future. They even stayed in touch with us and made themselves available in case we had any questions after Sophie was adopted. As new cat parents, this was truly helpful. The entire process was peaceful, effective, and reassuring. We are truly happy—not just for being able to adopt Sophie and welcome her into our home—but for the exceptional experience we had with Cathy and the team at the RISPCA. Even if you're not immediately interested in adopting, it's a great place to start and learn. Thank you very much to everyone at the RISPCA!

We recently adopted our beautiful cat from RISPCA and the entire process was super smooth and painless! Extremely grateful for Olivia and her unbelievable patience, care and customer service! I would absolutely return here to volunteer or adopt again, as well as recommend to family and friends!

RI SPCA is an amazing rescue. 1- Their staff is SO friendly and educated. 2- The facility is SO clean and well run. I was impressed to see that they had kitties with upper respiratory infections separate from the other cats (you’d be surprised that a lot of places do not do this). 3- We adopted our beautiful Willow (previously known as Raspberry). I was SURPRISED at how much paperwork they provided with her including very detailed vet paperwork, rabies certificate, spay certificate, microchip, and even information on cat body language and how to properly introduce kitties to their new homes and furry friends. I also received an email that had ALL her documents online through ShelterLuv. We are beyond impressed with this rescue. Thank you so much RI SPCA for all you do for our pets and for giving us our beautiful Willow. Willow has adjusted so well on only day 3 and my other cat has already accepted her and loves her so much (we are so shocked). The amount of love and comfort between them makes me feel like it is a sign from our 2-year cat that we had to unexpectedly put to sleep a few months back due to advanced stage cancer (we got her from a different rescue). Our hearts are SO full 🩷😻🌈🐾

The staff are amazing. I recently lost of dog of 7 years to aggressive lung cancer. I went into RISPCA to see if they accepted specific kinds of donations as well as volunteer my time/assistance. While I was there I was speaking with the lady about how I recently lost of dog and I started to tear up. The woman at the front desk offered her condolences and gave me some tissues. She informed me that she lost her dog 3 years ago and how she is still not over her loss either. I will never forget her kindness or her empathetic nature. She was truly a pleasure to speak with. The rest of the staff were very kind as well, although I didn’t have much interaction with them due to them attending to the animals, of course! The establishment was very calm, welcoming and clean. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a place to donate, volunteer or adopt your forever friend.

Everyone at RISPCA is wonderful, and they treat Tucker and me like family. We never wait long and can usually get an appointment when I call or they call back in a reasonable timeframe. Tucker looks forward to his visits!!
