I have donated many times to Erie Wildlife and love the work they do. Today, after calling around to local vets and all of them suggesting I call Erie, I called to ask about some juvenile raccoons to see if we could give them revolution (due to the fleas/ticks around the yard). We were rudely told to call somewhere else. I'm sure the volunteers are tired and very busy, but a little kindness goes a long way all around. Was disappointed in the lack of help and the rudeness, I'll be sure to let the vets know not to have others call, since they will be refused assistance.
Erie wildlife employees are absolutely amazing!! They truly care about every single injured wild animal. If you've found an injured animal...this is the place to go. They explain everything you need to know & with a follow up call. Great people!!
After realizing mommy squirrel wasn't coming back to the nest, I kept a good eye on the nest for 24 hours, before I removed three 2 week old babies from the nest, deflead and put them in a heated box,fed twice before I received call back from EWR and once that took place I brought them in and handed them over to a gal, just before their next 2-3 hour feeding. The gal was great, professional in taking some info.
The volunteers here are doing the best they can for nature's wildlife.
The nicest people ever! They took in a baby cottontail rabbit that my cat took from its nest and I have a feeling it is in great hands now.
Called Saturday afternoon around 4pm, about a beaver being poisoned and stumbling and falling over in a feild, and no one answered their phones.. its unfortunate that wild life employees want to awser the phone when it's convenient for them.. I wanted to help this poor guy but it's unfortunate that I don't have the experience to help..
