It took my dog as a preventing care as my dog was limping (front leg) and instead my dog was returned paralyzed and they won't tell me what happened and pressured me to euthanized him. This place is not following standards of care and violated their own policies not to mentioned Veterinary Board Guidelines and State regulations governing veterinary practices. They neglected to tell me my dog was paralyzed and discharge him without telling us of his condition, the dog walked in and came out paralyzed this happened while in their care. VCA violated the standards of care by not providing the much needed ICU care my dog needed while they extended his suffering and our family lost our beloved pet he was like our child.
I’d advise anyone to stay away from this vet hospital as they care more about money than your own pet. The lack of compassion from the veterinary techs and doctors was upsetting. For the majority of people it’s hard to pull out thousands of dollars when your pet is in need, but when asked for some type of payment plan they said no. When asked what are our options we were told immediately, “Well we can put your cat down.” Mind you, he was in for a bladder blockage that very well can be taken care of. But since we didn’t have the money that was their first solution to us. Finally we were told that he could stay for a day and a half instead of 3 for half the price. We had no choice but to accept, however were told repeatedly that he will become sick again, and that the doctors couldn’t tell us any more about his kidneys because we couldn’t pay the original price of $7,000. The lack of compassion is appalling. When we picked our sweet cat up, he was covered in pee as he also was not let out of his cage to use the restroom. Overall, we have a cat at home that for the time being is okay, but the way we were treated at this place was disgusting. I wish this experience on no pet owner.
My June bug (5.4 lb chihuahua). These people saved her life in 2017 and 2019 on New Years Eve. Having eaten a bone, developed obstruction, so sick. I called them in late afternoon to announce immediate arrival. They received us, took her immediately to examinations, made 2 observations, 1 x-ray and steps were immediately taken. Had to leave her. Monitored while under treatment - whatever it was, they helped my June bug pass it. These folks are amazing. Respectful, timely, responsive, caring, she was a renewed dog. Thankful I had pet insurance - worth it !!!!!
My husband and I brought our yorkie in because he was attacked by a larger dog. The attitude that came from the vet and saying "it seems like you don't want to do what we're suggesting" after we were shocked by an 8000$ quote for stitches and cleaning of the wound, they told us he had a torn muscle but only after terrifying and instilling fear in my husband that our dog could have much more serious complications and possibly die, I started asking questions about the status of my dog, vitals, etc, and every time they said (with enthusiasm) "oh he's fine!" - They do not care about your animals, only money. Our dog is completely fine and we're about to find out from a normal clinic whether or not all their overly priced stiches, widening of his wound and surgery were even necessary, they take advantage of loving pet owners during a vulnerable time, and that is just disgusting. The only good thing about this place were the friendly receptionists.
Brought my cat in for fluid in his stomach, which we found out at the ER visit. Vet was extremely condescending and rude. After conducting an ultrasound, the only thing the vet said was that my cat would need to be euthanized. I did not disagree with this, still not an easy thing to hear especially when the veterinarian is clearly so miserable. However, this vet failed to mention that her and her team had discovered a mass in his ultrasound. Not a single word about it, straight to euthanasia. It was in the report that was discovered by another vet, but not discussed. Before deciding to put my cat to sleep 100%, I took him to a vet hospital in Davis where they discovered that information had been withheld. This vet took x-rays and sent them to be read. Had I found out about the mass at VCA and time had been taken to explain the causes of a mass, I would have gotten x-rays at VCA. I had answers in Davis within the hour of the appointment and absolutely no wait time. I have given VCA Mueller two stars as they were quick to see my cat and was able to drain his stomach to make him more comfortable. Amber, the vet tech, also earned a star. She was obviously busy, but still took what little time she had to be kind and considerate. This review was not made out of pain or anger because my cat has passed. It was going to happen either way. Price was not considered in this assessment as I had and still have no issue with the amount I spent. I quite honestly couldn’t even tell you if it’s more expensive than other places. It’s the lack of empathy and is a fair assessment.
The staff here are beyond exceptional!! Definitely trust them with your pet’s life and you will not be disappointed. They are honest, compassionate, affordable, genuine, transparent with all costs/tests, and highly professional. The hospital is very large, absolutely beautiful, and clean! It looks like a regular people-hospital. They saved our K9 fur baby’s life. K9 Zuti is a working dog who became severely ill and would not have survived the night if it wasn’t for the interventions made by VCA Mueller’s ER treatment team. Prior to coming to this ER we took K9 Zuti to a different ER and were told that we had to pay a $6,600 deposit immediately for diagnostics or euthanize him. We decided to get a second opinion at VCA Mueller and are so glad we did! They have a very reasonable and affordable ER visit rate and they even met us outside with a stretcher. They showed extreme compassion from the first phone call we made to them. Our Zuti bonded with the staff during his 4-night stay, which was noted by his fierce tail wagging when they entered the room! They have beautiful and clean visiting rooms where you can see them anytime, day or night. We even went at 2am once; they were very accommodating and welcoming. They will love your pet just as much as you do! You will have peace of mind if you have to leave your fur baby in their care over night or for extended treatment. Thank you VCA Mueller for your professionalism and compassion that you demonstrated towards my family and K9 Zuti!!! We are forever in your debt!
