My first impression walking in, I thought the office was clean and front desk ladies welcomed us in and adored our puppy corgi. We waited for 10-15min, which was understandable because we were 10min late, and they still accepted us. The vet tech we got was super nice, she adored our fur baby as well and was super gentle. She answered a lot of our questions and was happy to do so. Coming here was nerve wrecking because we wanted to make sure whoever we went to wasn’t rough or careless. They definitely made us feel welcomed and comfortable. Dr. Cody is the best! We came in with many questions because we are first time dog owners. He answered all of our questions and even gave us info we didn’t know we needed. He showed great character, talked to us, helped understand our worries & helped put us at ease as first time owners. Our pup corgi also peed on the exam table and Dr. Cody was super chill about it. He consistently told us not to worry and that it was okay. After Dr. Cody left, vet tech came back in to give our pup his vaccinations. She said she would bring our pup to the back and her other vet tech would assist. But I asked if it was okay if she did it in the exam room with us instead, she confidently told us that was okay! During his shots she was the sweetest, he was crying a little in between and vet tech gave him time to relax before giving his 2nd shot. I can not express how confident I was walking out of there. We paid around $140 for his exam, 2 shots & the chewy flea medicine. Pretty decent prices, we honestly expected to be paying more. I’m sure other places are a little cheaper BUT with their outstanding service, I didn’t even care one bit! It’s been 2 days since our visit and silo is doing great. Thank you Dr. Cody and the vet tech for taking care of silo and us!

Can’t even get a call back. We called Friday evening at around 5:30pm for our cat and no answer. The hours state they are open until 6:00pm we left a message and no call back. Then we called Saturday morning and left two messages and our cat was not doing well and needed to be seen he is not responding to the meds he was given by them. No call back even though they were open all day. We ended up taking him to Vista Veterinary Specialist and got great customer service and thankfully we got him somewhere in time. We will never come back here, so unprofessional.

Horrible experience! Right before Thanksgiving my small pup was sick with a bad cough & runny nose. Took her in on Tue Nov 21st. Paid over $700. Visit & x-rays. Way over charged!! Didn't call me back with results. I had to call the next day. Doctor advised to pick up the med. I rushed after work and arrived by 5pm. THE OFFICE WAS CLOSED ! At no time I was told told they would close early. I was left with no med for my sick pup and the next day was closed due to Thanksgiving. They called me on Friday to pick up the meds. I so upset, that one of the receptionist called me the next day to apologize and was going to check if i could get a refund for the meds since they did no info me of the extra charge to review the x-rays. Until now I'm STILL waiting for the refund. What a Joke! I will never go back to that vet! (Heads up, make sure they explain all the changes) I gave a one star rating to be able to write the review 😆

Edited for the first time I went there I had an animal that had passed away and they were very nice so when my other cat got sick I brought him there not only did they overcharge me but they charged me for services that was not given when I came to pick up my cat the actual vet told me that there was an error and that they had overcharged me and I would be getting a small partial refund I've been fighting with them for over a month now and still have not received my refund I will never bring an animal there again unless of course it's dead they worked great with my dead cat in order to cremate it but as far as keeping an animal alive they will over charge you if they can and even if the doctor states that some services were never given they will not refund horrible customer service lady at the front desk totally rude I don't even think she likes animals. Refuse to answer any questions I had and rolled her eyes at me during our whole conversation. Every time I call she makes Sly remarks and says someone will call me back and nobody ever does thanks for nothing.

My sweet cat, Alma Luna, ate a strand from a Kings pompom and it was sticking out of her bum. I took her in and from the beginning, she received the best care possible. I highly recommended the South Sacramento Pet Hospital for your pet’s care.
