Description Wisconsin Community Veterinary Center, a program of Shelter from the Storm Rescue, is a nonprofit on a mission to remove the financial barriers to veterinary care by making it accessible and affordable for everyone. We operate a full-service veterinary clinic in Madison, WI where we perform high quality, high volume spay/neuter, primary care, wellness services, dental procedures and special surgeries. We understand that veterinary care can seem costly and out of reach - and we are here to change that. We are here to help. Because sometimes, we all need somebody to lean on.

Best experience I've ever had at a vet clinic! They were able to schedule right away, unlike the other vets in my area it's worth the drive! The people who answered the phones were wonderful and helpful. I arrived early and they still came out and greeted and acknowledged me, they were very informative and caring. They were able to examine diagnose and treat my cats ear infection for about 100$ which is a fraction of what I paid before, and they even gave him a courtesy ear cleaning because they said he was so "unnaturally well behaved" I left my last vet because he unnecessarily manhandled my cat right off the bat, so I'm happy they could recognize that it isn't necessary with his calm temperament. I don't remember specific names but everyone I interacted with was awesome and professional and most importantly compassionate. Again it's 100% worth the 1.5 hour drive for me, I'm excited for my dog to come meet the staff next time!

Great place, great people! Good system for drop off and pick up. We got my 2 year old male cat fixed and they were able to do a urinalysis on him as well. He is a difficult guy to handle even for me as he was feral when we brought him home as a kitten. It took them a couple of times to get him sedated as I’m sure he was fighting everything. I used to work in the veterinary and shelter fields so I know how it is behind the scenes and I praise them for the work they do! Thank you for offering this low cost option to so many people!!

I am so happy I found this affordable clinic. I drove 1 1/2 hours to get my puppy spay. I would do it again! Very happy with the care my pup received. I also left a donation and plan to donate in the future for others not able to afford vet care.

Second time I have been here. Improvement - I really wish your staff would inform families that medical records will be emailed and there is a hyperlink to download them. Prices are great! Staff is super nice. NEVER had issues with surgeries. Staff reassures us every time that we can call with concerns and schedule a recheck before leaving. Staff has always been willing to accommodate our requests. Is it worth the 2 hour drive? YES! Is this place worth the waiting for drop off and pickup? YES! Has the staff always been professional and friendly? ABSOLUTELY 💯 Does the staff go over discharge papers with you in person without being rushed? 💯 EVERY TIME! Thank you guys for all you do 😁

They gave my cat no after care medications or instructions to care for her after her spay. She ended up needing to have another surgery in the middle of the night at an emergency vet less than three days later. Afterwards, she had to be sedated and on heavy antibiotics for a week. The people are great, the care not so much.

My regular vet wouldn’t treat my very ill dog unless I could pay for the visit(s) the same day! I’ve paid nearly $3,000 to them in the last 6 months, and my dog wasn’t getting 100% better. I just don’t have any money left to pay the full amount each time; I could make monthly payments. Thank God for WI Community Vet. First time there yesterday. Very friendly and professional staff, and bill very reasonable. 24-hours later and my dog is already starting to improve.
