After having to put my 14 year old dog down die to old age, my family was looking for a new puppy. We applied for one of the puppies but quickly ran i to the same road blocks that many other people on here have had with this organization. I have never adopted a dog before and did not realize I would need to keep every shred of paperwork for every animal I have ever owned to be approved. I took my last dog to get his yearly vaccinations at LC4 faithfully., never missed them. They did not like that for some reason. He was always a very healthy dog and I would take him to the vet if anything ever came up, but I never saw the point of spending triple the money for yearly vaccinations when my dog was perfectly healthy. I ended finding a great puppy at the Humane Society and couldn’t be happier with their adoption process. Out of curiosity I looked back a few weeks later at the puppy I was interested in and he is still in a crowded foster. He could have been in a loving home getting all the hugs and as much love as he could handle from my family but sadly he will probably never get that because of those organizations adoption process.

When I first got my cat they said she was 8 months old. I loved her with my whole heart. I took her to the vet and they found out she’s about 9-12 years old. She later passed away yesterday morning because her heart couldn’t handle it anymore. It pisses me off that they sold me an old cat and I barely got to spend anytime with her. I’m just glad she was in a loving home when she passed away. Y’all need to put the correct age on your animals and if y’all don’t know how old they are put unknown.

Stay away from these people. Their "application process " is a joke, not to mention a little invasion of privacy if u ask me. People want to adopt a pet, not a child. It's non of your business where I work or what I do for living. It's also non of your business who my vet is. You should handle adaption applications like all Humane Society's do around the state and country for that matter. I mean they are utterly a joke and unprofessional. I feel bad for the animals, but I'd say go to the humane society, where you can see the pets, handle the pet without having anyone hovering over you, and where your application is treated and processed the same day.

We had a great experience with Lucas County Pit Crew when adopting Clover (previously Swallowtail). Everyone we've met is kind, passionate, and helpful. When we brought home our puppy she was well socialized and well taken care of. We plan to continue to attend events and support the pit crew and when we're ready to adopt again, chances are high that we'll be going through them again.

Found Morticia through the petfinder website, We were able to meet and hang out with her at petsmart for the pick up location at their adoption center where we were explained over everything she still needed. Very clear and helpful experience! They even provided us with a week of food, coupon booklet, and free harnesses for her and our older cat. Not to mention how comfortable she is with being handled and everything, it’s clear the fosters spent a good amount of time socializing her even though her mom is feral. For the people complaining about not being able to adopt a kitten/cat with an unfixed dog— they will mount almost anything, it’s for your new pet’s safety, which it’s very obvious LCPC cares very much about. They were kind enough to wait for me to verify my records with my other cat’s spay since I got her done at Humane Ohio (much less expensive than going to the vet, also a big recommend), and to update her rabies shot since she needed her 3yrs. I don’t plan on adopting again any time soon but when I do, definitely going with LCPC again! 💗

We had the best experience with LCPC when we adopted our two 10 week old puppies. We had lost our Isabelle a few months before due to Lymphoma at 5 years old & we were devestated. We felt that a new family member would help with our grief & wanted 2 puppies so were thinking about siblings so I filled out an application. Jean then called me to see what type of dog we were looking for. She spoke with me for over an hour explaining why sibling puppies werent a great idea and let me tell her all about our.Isabelle who we had just lost. She also recommended adopting one puppy and then another one a couple of months later instead of at the same time. She.was absolutely right! The entire adoption was a smooth process. I understand sometimes there are hurt feelings &.disappointment but they have to have rules about fences and existing pets being fixed because people arent always honest so they have strict rules in place for EVERYONE. These dogs/cats have already been thru a hard time and LCPC is just trying to do the best they can placing them in FOREVER homes. Jean is passionate and also outspoken because this rescue is her life. Her fosters are the best as well. We will never adopt from anyplace else.
