I’ve brought over 10 birds into the rescue and they take care of each one as though I’m bringing in my own pet!!! I try to support them as much as possible on my limited income!! I wish everyone knew how great they are!! About 3 years ago there was an injured fawn in the cemetery where I used to walk - I would have paid the bills if I knew about the wildlife rescue😞

What a wonderful organization! Everyone that I have interacted with has been personable, knowledgeable, and affable. They really care about our region's wildlife and are the best people to ask for advice about anything wildlife related. They are happy to answer any questions about all of our local species and are super fun to talk to! SWVA wildlife center is an essential organization for our community and our local wildlife species.

Was very thankful to the lovely individuals here at the center for taking in this poor fur baby that was hurt! Great people doing a great job!

We had a tree branch fall and a bird nest was in it. There were 3 newly hatched spotted fly catchers and we just had to take photos of the belly the top of the beak and the side to confirm they are native. Then they accepted them quickly and told us how to keep them warm and get them there. They didn't charge but accepted donations. They are wonderful. They were expecting us and remembered us. One died on the way due to a broken clavicle but the others went right in the incubator. Thank you for helping us save the birds

Someone had the audacity to put a baby box turtle in a small cardboard box and leave it at our garage… not sure how long it was sitting there, maybe 24-48 hours , before we noticed it. We called a little after 4 and they had no problems with us coming right up to hand it off to them for care.. we were given some information on how to check up on the little guy. Hopefully when they give him a clean bill of health we can take him back and re-release him in our wooded back yard - can’t imagine he came from anywhere else. Staff was very nice and we support them 100%

Melissa was very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful when I called about a bat possibly injured in our yard. When we brought the bat in she and other staff members jumped right into helping and getting everything taken care of. Great to see caring people providing the community and animals with such a helpful and important place!
